  • • Brave Health is on a mission to revolutionize mental healthcare by making it accessible, affordable, and high-quality for everyone, particularly for individuals relying on Medicaid. As a Clinical Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in upholding the integrity and excellence of our clinical documentation, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance. This part-time, remote position is crucial for maintaining the trust and effectiveness of our therapeutic interventions, directly impacting the lives of the diverse patient population we serve. Your expertise will help ensure that our associate therapists are providing accurate, complete, and compliant documentation, which is fundamental to our patient care model and our commitment to transforming lives.
  • • In this role, you will be responsible for the meticulous review of clinical documentation submitted by our licensed intern therapists. This includes a thorough examination of treatment plans, progress notes, and any other relevant records to verify their accuracy, completeness, and adherence to both regulatory standards and Brave Health's internal guidelines. You will act as a gatekeeper of quality, ensuring that every document reflects the high standard of care we promise to our patients. This involves a deep understanding of clinical best practices and the ability to identify any discrepancies or areas needing improvement.
  • • A significant part of your day-to-day will involve ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards within the healthcare industry. You will need to stay abreast of the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare regulations and communicate any changes effectively to the team, particularly concerning documentation requirements. This proactive approach to compliance is essential for mitigating risks and maintaining our operational integrity. You will also conduct regular quality control audits to systematically assess the overall quality of documentation and pinpoint specific areas where enhancements can be made. This data-driven approach allows us to continuously refine our processes and support our clinical staff.
  • • You will provide constructive, actionable feedback to associate therapists, working collaboratively with them to elevate the quality of their documentation. This coaching aspect is vital for professional development and ensuring consistent quality across the board. Your ability to communicate clearly and empathetically will be key in guiding therapists towards best practices. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the leadership team, including clinical supervisors and management, to swiftly address any emerging issues related to documentation quality and compliance. This includes communicating effectively with providers for documentation coaching and revision purposes prior to co-signature, ensuring that all documentation is finalized correctly and efficiently.
  • • You will also be responsible for relaying ongoing and urgent matters to the Chief Clinical Quality Assurance Manager (CCQAM) and other appropriate parties, ensuring that critical information is disseminated promptly and effectively. By fostering a collaborative environment, you will encourage open communication and a shared commitment to continuous improvement among the clinical team. Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all documentation reviews, feedback provided, and corrective actions taken is a core responsibility. This meticulous record-keeping ensures accountability and provides valuable data for future analysis and process improvements. Finally, you will generate comprehensive reports on the overall quality of documentation and compliance levels, offering insights that inform strategic decisions and operational adjustments.
  • • The team at Brave Health is dedicated to providing exceptional mental health services through a community health-centered approach. We believe in harnessing technology to break down barriers and extend our reach, ensuring that individuals, especially those covered by Medicaid, have access to the care they deserve. Our culture is one of collaboration, continuous learning, and a shared passion for making a tangible difference in people's lives. We are proud of our diverse team, which mirrors the diverse patient population we serve, and we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
  • • In this role, you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in clinical quality assurance and healthcare compliance within a rapidly growing, innovative organization. You will gain valuable experience in auditing, feedback mechanisms, and regulatory adherence in the behavioral health sector. By contributing to the enhancement of our documentation processes, you will directly impact the quality of care delivered to our patients and play a significant role in Brave Health's mission to expand access to mental health services. This position offers a unique chance to grow professionally while making a meaningful contribution to a cause that truly matters.
