  • • As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC-D) at Brave Health PA, you will play a vital role in expanding access to compassionate, high-quality mental health care for underserved populations across New York State, particularly those relying on Medicaid and Medicare, by delivering evidence-based outpatient therapy through a secure, innovative telehealth platform that breaks down geographic and systemic barriers to treatment.
  • • Your work will directly contribute to Brave Health’s mission of ensuring no one is left behind in mental health care access, supporting a diverse patient population across the lifespan with culturally responsive, trauma-informed services that promote healing, resilience, and long-term wellness from the comfort and safety of your own home.
  • • Day to day, you will conduct individual, couples, and family therapy sessions via HIPAA-compliant video conferencing, managing a full caseload of outpatient clients with diverse mental health and substance use concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and co-occurring disorders.
  • • You will perform comprehensive clinical assessments, develop personalized treatment plans grounded in evidence-based modalities (such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing), and regularly evaluate client progress to adjust interventions and ensure therapeutic goals are met.
  • • You will maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system, including session notes, treatment updates, and discharge summaries, while adhering strictly to HIPAA, state licensing regulations, and Brave Health’s clinical quality standards.
  • • You will collaborate as needed with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals within Brave Health’s integrated care model to coordinate holistic treatment, especially for clients with complex medical or psychiatric needs.
  • • You will engage in ongoing professional development through the annual education stipend, participating in trainings, workshops, and certifications that enhance your clinical expertise in areas such as cultural humility, LGBTQ+ affirming care, and evidence-based practices for diverse populations.
  • • You will uphold Brave Health’s commitment to equity and inclusion by providing culturally responsive care to clients from varied racial, ethnic, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, with particular emphasis on serving Spanish-speaking clients if bilingual.
  • • You will operate from a private, distraction-free home workspace that ensures client confidentiality and safety during all telehealth interactions, maintaining a professional environment conducive to therapeutic engagement.
  • • You will contribute to a supportive, mission-driven team culture that values clinician well-being, offering structured schedules (Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm, 10am–7pm, or 11am–8pm EST) with no weekend work, promoting sustainable work-life balance in a fully remote setting.
  • • About the team or company: Brave Health PA is a rapidly growing, mission-led telehealth organization dedicated to closing the mental health care gap for Medicaid and Medicare recipients, combining clinical excellence with technological innovation to deliver scalable, affordable, and compassionate care across New York State and beyond.
  • • The company prides itself on its diverse, values-aligned team of clinicians who share a deep commitment to social justice in healthcare, fostering an inclusive environment where every provider’s voice is respected and professional growth is actively supported.
  • • What the person can learn or achieve in this role: You will deepen your clinical expertise in telehealth delivery, gaining mastery in virtual therapeutic engagement, digital documentation, and remote crisis management—skills increasingly essential in modern mental health practice.
  • • You will have the opportunity to become a leader in equitable mental health care, developing specialized competencies in serving underserved communities and advocating for systemic change through your direct impact on patient outcomes and access.

  • • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States without requiring current or future employer sponsorship for visa status; Brave Health cannot sponsor employment visas at this time.
