Full Job Description
đ Description
- ⢠As the Network Partnerships Lead at Metriport Inc., you will serve as the critical connective tissue between the company and its essential data partners, directly enabling the platformâs ability to deliver real-time, comprehensive patient data to healthcare customers. Your work will be foundational to scaling Metriportâs product offering by identifying, negotiating, and maintaining high-impact partnerships with national networks, state HIEs, laboratory data sources, and other vital healthcare data vendorsâturning external relationships into scalable, technical integrations that power better patient care.
- ⢠Day to day, you will identify internal partnership needs by collaborating with product, engineering, and clinical teams to uncover gaps in data coverage or integration capabilities; you will then lead end-to-end partnership development, from initial outreach and relationship building with potential vendors through contract negotiation, SLAs, technical integration planning, and ongoing relationship management, ensuring each partnership delivers measurable value and aligns with strategic priorities.
- ⢠You will act as a strategic negotiator and consensus builder, diagnosing friction points in partner discussionsâwhether around data access, pricing, timelines, or technical compatibilityâand transforming them into win-win opportunities through data-informed narratives, creative structuring, and persistent follow-up, all while maintaining a deep understanding of how partner data models and integration requirements impact Metriportâs platform architecture.
- ⢠You will ruthlessly prioritize partnership opportunities amid a high volume of potential partners, focusing your efforts on those with the highest strategic impactâsuch as unlocking new geographic coverage, enabling novel data types, or reducing integration frictionâwhile continuously measuring outcomes against KPIs like partner onboarding speed, data volume growth, and customer retention impact.
- ⢠You will maintain technical fluency in healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7, APIs) and data exchange mechanisms, enabling you to speak credibly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, anticipate integration challenges early, and guide engineering teams on partner-specific requirements without needing constant hand-holding.
- ⢠You will operate with high autonomy and ownership in a fast-paced, founder-led environment where minimal bureaucracy and high accountability are the normâexpected to break down ambiguous goals into executable plans, move with urgency (embracing the âWhy canât this be done in 3 days?â mindset), and deliver results that directly contribute to Metriportâs multi-million ARR growth and mission to improve healthcare data accessibility.
- ⢠You will join a tight-knit, high-performing team of mostly former founders and YC alumni who operate with intense focus, minimal hierarchy, and a culture rooted in competence over prestigeâwhere your contributions will be visible, impactful, and directly tied to company outcomes, offering unparalleled opportunity to grow as a strategic operator in a high-growth healthcare tech startup.
- ⢠In this role, you will develop deep expertise in healthcare data partnerships, contract strategy, and technical integration lifecycle managementâskills that are rare and highly valuable in the evolving health interoperability landscapeâwhile building a portfolio of scalable partner relationships that could become a benchmark for industry collaboration, positioning you as a leader in healthcare data ecosystem development.
đŻ Requirements
- ⢠3+ years of proven experience building partnerships with external parties from scratch and managing a book of partners (ideally ~50 partners), including end-to-end ownership of outreach, negotiation, contracting, and ongoing relationship management.
- ⢠3+ years of direct experience working within the healthcare industry, with specific exposure to healthcare interoperability, data exchange, or health IT systems considered a significant advantage.
- ⢠Demonstrated success in negotiating and managing complex contracts, vendor SLAs, and data use agreements, with the ability to balance legal, technical, and commercial considerations to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- ⢠Strong problem-solving skills: ability to navigate ambiguous, high-constraint environments using structured, data-informed reasoning to assess risks, identify root causes, and propose actionable solutions.
- ⢠High autonomy and ownership mindset: comfortable taking loosely defined objectives, breaking them into clear steps, identifying the most efficient path forward, and executing with minimal supervision while maintaining alignment with team and company goals.
- ⢠Willingness to be based in San Francisco (or relocate) to work from the South Beach office, embracing the companyâs culture of sustainable intensity and in-person collaboration.
- ⢠Embodies the âMetriport Mindsetâ: low ego, high ownership, bias toward action, and a relentless focus on outcomesâasking âWhy canât this be done in 3 days?â instead of accepting 3-week timelines as default.
đď¸ Benefits
- ⢠Competitive equity + compensation package designed to reward ownership and long-term alignment with company success.
- ⢠Full family Platinum health insurance, dental, and vision coverage to support your wellbeing and that of your dependents.
- ⢠401(k) retirement plan with company matching to help you build long-term financial security.
- ⢠Flexible work arrangements: option to work from home or in-office, with trust in your ability to manage your schedule and deliver results.
- ⢠Complimentary healthy lunches when in-office, with breakfast and dinner provided as needed during intense work periods.
- ⢠Quarterly company off-sites to strengthen team bonds, recharge, and align on strategic goals in an engaging, off-site environment.
- ⢠Provided MacBook and necessary equipment to ensure you have the tools to perform at your best.
- ⢠Unlimited PTO policy, reflecting trust in your judgment to take time off when needed to recharge and perform at your peak.
