Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the product vision and roadmap for Formic Cortex, the brain that orchestrates thousands of industrial robots across the United States. You will translate complex automation challenges into elegant, scalable software solutions that let factories run lights-out, 24/7.
- • Lead a cross-functional squad of engineers, designers, and domain experts to ship high-impact features every quarter. From real-time fleet telemetry to predictive maintenance algorithms, you will decide what gets built, why it matters, and how we measure success.
- • Become the voice of the customer on the factory floor. Spend at least 20 % of your time visiting plants, interviewing operators, and watching robots in action. Translate pain points into user stories that engineers love to build and customers can’t live without.
- • Define and track KPIs that matter: robot uptime, mean-time-to-recovery, task throughput, and customer NPS. Present these metrics monthly to the executive team and use them to ruthlessly prioritize the backlog.
- • Evangelize Formic Cortex both internally and externally. Run roadmap webinars for Fortune 500 prospects, keynote at industry conferences, and publish thought-leadership pieces that position Formic as the definitive platform for industrial automation.
- • Collaborate with hardware, safety, and field-operations teams to ensure every software release meets rigorous industrial standards. You will shepherd features through ISO 13849 functional-safety reviews and UL 3100 certification processes.
- • Build and mentor a world-class product organization. Hire, coach, and retain PMs and product designers who thrive in a fast-moving, remote-first culture. Establish lightweight rituals—weekly demos, quarterly OKR reviews, and continuous discovery loops—that keep the team aligned and energized.
- • Drive pricing and packaging strategy for new modules such as AI-driven defect detection and pay-per-use robot leasing. Work with finance and sales to model TCO, craft tiered SaaS plans, and negotiate seven-figure enterprise contracts.
- • Champion accessibility and sustainability in industrial tech. Ensure Cortex dashboards meet WCAG 2.1 standards and that our optimization algorithms reduce energy consumption on the line.
- • Stay ahead of the curve. Evaluate emerging tech—5G edge computing, ROS 2.0, digital twins—and run quarterly spike projects that de-risk future bets. Present findings to the board and secure budget for next-gen initiatives.
Skills & Technologies
About Formic Technologies, Inc.
Formic designs and deploys industrial robot systems for small to mid-sized manufacturers under a Robotics-as-a-Service model. Customers pay only for productive machine hours while Formic owns, maintains, and upgrades the automation equipment, eliminating upfront capital costs and technical risk. The company integrates robots for palletizing, welding, machine tending, packaging, and material handling, providing 24/7 monitoring, parts, service, and performance guarantees. By combining standardized hardware, proprietary software, and nationwide field support, Formic enables factories to automate quickly and flexibly, increasing throughput and reducing labor dependence without owning robots.
