  • • As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Brave Health PA, you will play a critical role in expanding access to compassionate, high-quality mental health care for underserved populations, particularly those relying on Medicaid, by delivering evidence-based psychiatric services remotely across Illinois.
  • • You will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnose mental health and substance use disorders, develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe and manage psychotropic medications—including controlled substances—and provide individual psychotherapy to adults and adolescents aged 13 and older, including those with severe mental illness (SMI) and co-occurring conditions.

  • • You will educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication risks and benefits, while using motivational interviewing techniques and de-escalation strategies to support therapeutic engagement, especially with complex or treatment-resistant clients.
  • • You will order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and EKGs when clinically indicated, maintain up-to-date problem lists, and adjust treatment plans based on patient response, all while adapting to telehealth technology and video-based communication platforms.
  • • You will contribute to a mission-driven, community health-centered organization that prioritizes equity in mental health access, working within a supportive team culture that values collaboration, continuous learning, and clinical excellence in a fully remote, Monday–Friday schedule with no weekend or on-call obligations.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in addiction and dual-diagnosis treatment, refine your telehealth clinical skills, gain experience with diverse populations across the lifespan, and have access to an annual stipend for professional development, enabling growth in both clinical practice and leadership within community mental health.
