- • The Remote Sensing Commercial Specialist role at CGG (operating as Viridien) is focused on driving commercial applications of Earth observation (EO) data, particularly for mining and oil & gas clients, by combining technical expertise with business development to deliver tailored satellite imagery solutions.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to client enquiries, scoping projects, advising on optimal data sources (such as DEMs, optical, SAR, and hyperspectral), producing fit-for-purpose outputs, conducting market intelligence on EO providers and data releases, supporting bespoke data processing, collaborating across teams, and ensuring compliance with commercial licensing.
- • You will be part of the Satellite Mapping group within the Remote Sensing team, based in Crawley, UK, working alongside technical and commercial specialists to advance innovative Earth data solutions for natural resource and energy transition challenges.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in commercial remote sensing, strengthen client-facing and business development skills, influence product and service strategy through market insights, and contribute to sustainable solutions by enabling responsible use of geospatial data in critical industries.
🎯 Requirements
- • MSc in remote sensing, GIS or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- • At least 3 years of professional experience in a relevant role
- • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
- • Experience identifying new business opportunities and qualifying leads
- • Prior involvement in proposals, solution scoping, pricing inputs, and client presentations
