đź“‹ Description
- • As a Sales Executive for the Western Region at Barry-Wehmiller Companies, Inc., you will drive revenue growth by selling end-of-line packaging equipment and solutions to key industrial customers across California, Nevada, and other Western U.S. states. This role is critical to expanding market share in the capital equipment sector, where your expertise will directly contribute to the company’s mission of delivering innovative, high-performance packaging solutions that help customers achieve operational excellence.
- • You will develop and execute strategic sales plans in collaboration with VP Global Business Development and Business Unit Leadership, focusing on identifying new opportunities, nurturing existing accounts, and aligning territory goals with corporate objectives to ensure consistent pipeline development and forecast accuracy.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining strong customer relationships through consultative engagement, delivering tailored product insights, conducting needs assessments, and positioning Barry-Wehmiller’s solutions as the optimal choice for complex packaging challenges.
- • You will manage the full sales lifecycle — from lead generation and proposal development to negotiation, closing, and post-sale support — ensuring seamless handoffs to internal teams for installation, training, and service to maximize customer satisfaction and retention.
- • A key part of your role involves promoting ancillary services such as spare parts, field service, and preventive maintenance programs, thereby increasing customer lifetime value and reinforcing Barry-Wehmiller’s reputation for end-to-end support and reliability.
- • You will continuously monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging customer needs, feeding actionable intelligence back to product and marketing teams to inform innovation and maintain a competitive edge in the packaging technology landscape.
- • Staying current on product enhancements, new project launches, and technical specifications is essential; you will translate complex engineering details into clear, compelling value propositions for customers, including the ability to interpret blueprints and discuss automation applications with technical buyers.
- • You will maintain meticulous records of all sales activities, customer interactions, forecasts, and market intelligence in CRM systems, ensuring data integrity for reporting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- • The role demands high adaptability — you may be called upon to support cross-functional initiatives, participate in trade shows, or assist with special projects as business needs evolve, reflecting Barry-Wehmiller’s agile, people-first culture.
- • You will operate with a high degree of autonomy while remaining aligned with corporate values of Truly Human Leadership, emphasizing integrity, respect, and long-term partnership-building over transactional selling.
- • This position offers significant professional growth: you will deepen your expertise in industrial sales, refine your consultative selling techniques, expand your network within Fortune 500 manufacturing and packaging clients, and develop leadership capabilities that could lead to regional or national sales leadership roles within the Barry-Wehmiller enterprise.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and minimum three years of relevant experience, OR a two-year post-high school diploma/certificate with at least seven years of relevant experience.
- • Proven experience selling capital equipment within the packaging industry, with strong preference for candidates possessing end-of-line packaging equipment sales background.
- • Demonstrated ability to sell effectively to executive-level stakeholders at Fortune 500 companies, supported by exceptional presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- • Broad technical knowledge of automation applications and technologies, including the ability to read and interpret blueprints to understand customer production lines and equipment integration points.
- • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 80% of time) by air or car to customer sites, trade shows, and internal meetings across the Western U.S. territory.
- • Must reside in California or another designated Western Region U.S. state to ensure effective territory coverage and customer accessibility.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary ranging from $70,000 to $95,000 annually, complemented by uncapped commission potential that rewards high performance and enables significant earnings growth based on sales achievement.
- • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plans with company match, paid time off, and life and disability coverage — reflecting Barry-Wehmiller’s commitment to team member well-being.
- • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement within a $3 billion global organization that invests in its people through training, mentorship, and internal mobility programs.
- • The privilege of working for a purpose-driven company guided by Truly Human Leadership, where business success is measured not only by financial results but by the positive impact on people, communities, and the environment.
