Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Architect and execute a multi-cycle, multi-million-dollar electoral strategy that will protect and expand access to sexual and reproductive health care through decisive wins in the 2026 and 2028 election cycles and lay the groundwork for a national, durable right to abortion by 2040.
  • • Serve as the strategic quarterback for Planned Parenthood Votes’ and Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s Independent Expenditure program, directing national and state-level direct-voter-contact campaigns that reach millions of voters through mail, digital, field, and paid media.
  • • Co-lead the PPFA Campaigns Team alongside the Senior Director, Campaign Strategy—managing up to three Regional Campaigns Directors and a matrixed staff of managers, organizers, data analysts, and communications specialists—while fostering a culture of collaboration, racial equity, and continuous learning.
  • • Build and steward high-trust relationships with Planned Parenthood’s 49 state-based advocacy and political organizations, acting as a primary consultant on campaign plans, ballot-measure strategy, redistricting defense, legislative advocacy, and long-term power-building infrastructure.
  • • Represent Planned Parenthood Votes to external power brokers—donor tables, American Votes coalitions, research consortiums, communications hubs, and national allied organizations—translating shared goals into coordinated, well-resourced, data-driven electoral programs.
  • • Drive rigorous program design grounded in experimentation and evidence: oversee message testing, randomized controlled trials, modeling, and analytics that refine voter universes, creative, and turnout tactics; share learnings across the federation and the broader progressive ecosystem.
  • • Manage the full life-cycle of campaign grants—from scoping and budgeting through compliance, reporting, and evaluation—ensuring every dollar advances measurable progress toward policy wins, supporter growth, and culture change, especially among youth and communities of color.
  • • Partner with cross-divisional leadership (Digital, Communications, Brand & Culture, Data & Analytics, State Policy, Government Relations, Development, Operations, and National Organizing) to synchronize electoral timelines, policy priorities, fundraising goals, and brand positioning.
  • • Provide hands-on coaching and capacity-building for state teams: facilitate strategic planning retreats, lead national trainings, and co-create ambitious yet achievable goals for volunteer expansion, health-center protection, and legislative gains.
  • • Oversee vendor selection and performance across polling, mail, digital buying, field, and compliance; negotiate contracts, monitor deliverables, and pivot tactics in real time to optimize impact and return on investment.
  • • Serve as an on-the-ground strategist during peak campaign season, traveling 25–50% to swing states and frontline communities to troubleshoot challenges, energize volunteers, and ensure flawless execution of GOTV programs.
  • • Champion a racial-equity lens in every aspect of the work—staffing, targeting, storytelling, and partnership—to ensure that those most affected by attacks on reproductive freedom are centered in both strategy and leadership.
  • • Translate complex policy stakes into compelling narratives for donors, media, and volunteers; participate in high-dollar fundraising meetings and serve as a persuasive spokesperson for the electoral program’s mission and impact.
  • • Maintain meticulous compliance with federal and state campaign-finance laws; partner with legal and operations teams to file timely reports, track coordinated vs. independent activity, and uphold the highest ethical standards.
  • • Continuously scan the political horizon—court decisions, census and redistricting developments, emerging opposition tactics—and adjust strategy proactively to keep Planned Parenthood ahead of threats and opportunities.
  • • Foster innovation by piloting new technologies, testing emerging media platforms, and scaling successful experiments across the federation, ensuring the organization remains a cutting-edge leader in the reproductive-rights movement.
  • • Model Planned Parenthood’s “In This Together” ethos by mentoring rising leaders, cultivating inclusive spaces, and celebrating the diverse identities and contributions that fuel our collective power.
