đź“‹ Description
- • Join InnoCraft's dedicated Innovation Team as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, a pivotal role focused on driving the future of Matomo, the world's leading open-source, privacy-first web analytics platform. This position is ideal for a motivated engineer who thrives on creating tangible, practical outcomes and delivering real-world impact, rather than getting lost in overly complex or purely experimental solutions. You will operate within a small, autonomous, and highly collaborative team environment, where your ability to blend strong technical execution with a keen product-oriented mindset will be crucial in shaping the evolution of Matomo.
- • As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, your primary responsibility will be full-stack innovation development. This involves designing, prototyping, and delivering new features that significantly extend Matomo's capabilities. You will work across both backend (PHP) and frontend (JavaScript) technologies, with potential involvement in Python and Node.js for specific projects. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the platform's functionality, user experience, and overall value proposition for over a million websites worldwide.
- • A key aspect of this role is rapid prototyping and validation. You will be tasked with quickly testing new product ideas, including but not limited to innovative AI-driven insights, and rigorously validating them against real-world use cases. This requires an agile approach, a willingness to experiment, and the ability to iterate based on feedback and data.
- • You will embrace end-to-end ownership of your projects, taking ideas from initial concept through development, testing, and deployment into production. This holistic approach ensures accountability and fosters a deep understanding of the product lifecycle and its impact on users.
- • The role demands product-centric engineering. This means thinking beyond just writing code; you'll need to consider usability, scalability, security, and the long-term strategic value of every feature you develop. Your contributions will directly influence how businesses and organizations gain insights from their data while respecting user privacy.
- • Collaboration is fundamental. You will work closely with Matomo's co-founders and senior engineers, utilizing tools like Slack, Jira, and Confluence to facilitate communication and project management. This close-knit interaction ensures alignment and leverages the collective expertise of the team.
- • Operating effectively in a small, lean team requires autonomous execution. You will be expected to manage your priorities, drive projects forward independently, and operate with minimal oversight. Proactive problem-solving and self-direction are key to success in this environment.
- • Impediment management is another critical function. You will proactively identify and resolve blockers that hinder progress, escalating issues appropriately when external support is needed to maintain the momentum of innovation. Your ability to navigate challenges will be vital for the team's productivity.
- • Your exploration will extend beyond AI. You will be encouraged to identify and develop innovation opportunities across various domains, including advanced analytics, intuitive data visualization, seamless integrations with other platforms, and enhancing the overall user experience. This broad scope allows for diverse contributions and creative problem-solving.
- • Knowledge sharing is essential for fostering a culture of innovation. You will be responsible for documenting and communicating your concepts, prototypes, and learnings. This ensures that best practices and new insights are disseminated across the company, benefiting the wider engineering team.
- • Continuous learning is paramount in this dynamic field. You will stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and product trends, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas into the Matomo platform. This commitment to ongoing development ensures that Matomo remains at the forefront of web analytics technology.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a product used by over a million websites and nearly 2% of the entire internet, making a significant impact on how data is understood and utilized globally, all while championing privacy and ethical data practices. You will be part of a customer-obsessed business dedicated to building high-quality software with a strong mission to help users grow their web projects while maintaining full control of their data.
