📋 Description

• Join InnoCraft, a company dedicated to building a more ethical, privacy-first digital world, as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer on our Innovation Team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Matomo, the leading open-source web analytics platform, which is trusted by over 1 million websites and apps across 190 countries. We are seeking a motivated individual who is driven by creating tangible, practical outcomes and delivering usable solutions, rather than getting lost in over-engineered or purely experimental concepts. You will be an integral part of a small, autonomous team where strong technical execution is combined with a deep product-oriented mindset.
• As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, your primary focus will be on Full-Stack Innovation Development. This involves designing, prototyping, and delivering new features that enhance Matomo's capabilities. You will work across both backend (PHP) and frontend (JavaScript) technologies, with potential involvement in Python and Node.js as well. Your role will extend to Rapid Prototyping and Validation, where you'll quickly test new product ideas, including but not limited to AI-driven insights, and rigorously validate them against real-world use cases. This ensures that our innovations are not just novel, but also practical and valuable to our users.
• You will experience End-to-End Ownership, taking responsibility for your ideas from the initial concept all the way through to deployment. This holistic approach fosters a sense of accountability and allows for a deeper understanding of the product lifecycle. Your work will be guided by Product-Centric Engineering principles, meaning you'll think beyond just the code. You will consider crucial aspects like usability, scalability, security, and the long-term value of the features you develop, ensuring that Matomo remains a robust and user-friendly platform.
• Collaboration is key in our lean environment. You will engage in Cross-Functional Collaboration, working directly with Matomo's co-founders and senior engineers. Communication will primarily occur through tools like Slack, Jira, and Confluence, fostering a transparent and efficient workflow. Operating within a small, lean team, you will be empowered with Autonomous Execution. This means you'll be expected to operate effectively with minimal oversight, independently driving projects forward and taking initiative.
• Proactive Impediment Management is crucial for maintaining momentum. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving blockers to progress. When external support is needed to keep innovation moving, you will know how to escalate issues appropriately. Your scope of work extends beyond just AI; you will be involved in Exploration Beyond AI, identifying and developing innovation opportunities across various domains including analytics, data visualization, integrations, and user experience. This broad focus ensures a well-rounded approach to product development.
• To foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, you will be responsible for Knowledge Sharing. This includes documenting and communicating concepts, prototypes, and learnings to disseminate innovative practices across the company. Furthermore, Continuous Learning is expected. You will stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and product trends, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to Matomo. 🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong proficiency in PHP.
• Proven track record of delivering features end-to-end, from initial concept and prototyping through to production deployment.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively within a small, fast-moving, and remote team environment.
• A strong product-oriented mindset, capable of translating user needs and strategic goals into practical, impactful technical solutions.
