📋 Description
- • Senior Software Engineer role focused on building high-quality backend and frontend systems using NodeJS, ReactJS, and NextJS to support Bjak’s mission of expanding access to affordable financial services across ASEAN.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining backend systems with NodeJS, NestJS, ExpressJS, and GraphQL; building frontend applications with ReactJS and NextJS; ensuring production stability; analyzing and optimizing existing code; supporting cross-functional teams; mentoring junior developers; and conducting code reviews to uphold quality and consistency.
- • Bjak is Malaysia-headquartered and operates the largest insurance portal in Southeast Asia, leveraging technology like custom APIs, trading systems, and data science to democratize financial services; the company is expanding and seeks mission-driven engineers to contribute to its next growth phase.
- • The role offers opportunities to deepen full-stack expertise, lead technical improvements, mentor peers, and grow within a globally distributed, innovative engineering team tackling complex financial inclusion challenges.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- • Over 3 years of full-time experience in software engineering
- • Proficiency in backend development technologies such as NodeJS, NestJS, ExpressJS, GraphQL, and Postman
- • Proficiency in frontend development technologies such as ReactJS, NextJS, and Styled-components
- • Experience with database management including MongoDB and MySQL
- • Familiarity with automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, and Puppeteer
