• • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team at Alex Staff Agency. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead our financial operations within a high-growth, remote-first environment. As the Accounting Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial processes, playing a key role in our strategic decision-making and scale-up journey. You will directly supervise a team of remote accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. While this is primarily a remote position, occasional business travel to Rotterdam will be required, offering opportunities to connect with colleagues and key stakeholders in person.
• • In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting and compliance. This includes ensuring strict adherence to all relevant accounting standards (e.g., Dutch GAAP) and regulatory requirements. You will be tasked with preparing timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, tailored for both internal leadership and external stakeholders such as auditors and regulatory bodies. A significant part of your responsibility will involve supporting the VP Finance in managing statutory filings, maintaining robust communication channels with tax authorities, and facilitating smooth interactions with external auditors during annual audits and other reviews.
• • You will also take ownership of our financial operations and planning processes. This encompasses managing the entire month-end close cycle, developing comprehensive budgets and forecasts, and meticulously planning cash flow to ensure the company's financial health and stability. A critical aspect of this will be the implementation, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of our internal financial controls and procedures. This proactive approach to controls will safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the reliability of our financial information. Your expertise will be vital in preparing for and successfully navigating our annual audits, ensuring all documentation and processes are audit-ready.
• • Taxation will be another key area of focus. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation and timely filing of all tax returns in strict compliance with Dutch tax laws. This involves staying abreast of any changes in tax legislation and ensuring our company remains compliant. Furthermore, you will actively partner with external tax advisors to explore and implement strategies that optimize our tax position and minimize liabilities, ensuring we operate in the most tax-efficient manner possible.
• • A significant and exciting part of this role involves serving as the functional lead for our critical ERP system migration. You will guide the transition from our current Exact Online system to a new, scalable ERP solution, ensuring a seamless and successful implementation. This will involve defining requirements, overseeing data migration, and ensuring the new system meets our evolving business needs. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across all our systems and platforms. In line with our "Automation First" philosophy, you will collaborate closely with our IT team to implement automated workflows, leveraging API integrations for bank feeds, expense management, and accounts payable/receivable processes. This focus on automation will significantly reduce manual data entry, improve efficiency, and enhance data accuracy.
• • As a strategic business partner, you will provide invaluable financial insights, conduct thorough scenario analyses, and offer data-driven recommendations to VPs and managers across the organization. You will act as a trusted advisor, supporting critical strategic and operational decision-making processes, particularly during our exciting scale-up phase. Your ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business intelligence will be key to driving growth and success.
