- • As an Analyst, Model Monitoring (L8) at Synchrony Financial, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity and performance of credit and decision models across the enterprise, ensuring they remain accurate, explainable, and compliant with regulatory standards in a rapidly evolving financial services landscape.
- • Your work directly supports risk management and business decision-making by enabling proactive detection of model degradation, thereby protecting customer experience and organizational resilience.
- • Day to day, you will perform model monitoring activities for credit, customer, and non-customer decision models, including tracking of KPIs, stability metrics, and performance degradation indicators to detect early signs of drift or failure.
- • You will create and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to visualize performance trends, trigger alerts, and highlight potential model concerns for stakeholders across model owners, risk, and validation teams.
- • You will collaborate closely with model developers, owners, and validators to support timely issue investigation, remediation planning, and documentation updates, ensuring alignment between technical findings and business actions.
- • You will assist in developing and maintaining monitoring frameworks by defining stability thresholds, performance benchmarks, and early warning indicators, contributing to standardized, scalable model risk practices.
- • You will automate recurring monitoring tasks using scripting languages such as Python, SQL, or SAS, and workflow tools to increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve consistency in monitoring outputs.
- • You will document model performance summaries, trend analyses, and key monitoring artifacts in strict accordance with model risk policies, ensuring traceability, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
- • You will prepare inputs for model risk reports, audit reviews, and regulatory requests, guaranteeing completeness and clarity of monitoring evidence to satisfy internal and external oversight bodies.
- • You will contribute to the adoption of MLOps best practices and explainability techniques (e.g., SHAP, LIME) to enhance transparency, trust, and interpretability of model behavior in production.
- • You will participate in cross-functional working sessions to evaluate monitoring outcomes, share insights, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in model governance and observability.
- • You will join a high-performing Analytics organization within Synchrony’s India Analytics Hub (IAH), operating under the Decision Management vertical, where data-driven innovation is central to enhancing customer and partner experiences across digital, retail, health, auto, and more industries.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, technical, or data-focused field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering) with 1+ years’ experience OR, in lieu of degree, 3+ years of relevant work experience in model analytics, monitoring, and validation.
- • 1+ years of experience in model analytics, monitoring, validation, or development within a financial services environment.
- • Strong technical proficiency with data manipulation and analysis tools such as Python, SQL, R, or SAS.
- • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to create actionable performance dashboards.
- • Working knowledge of performance drift metrics, stability indicators, and key model health metrics.
- • Ability to translate technical findings into clear, concise documentation for non-technical audiences.
