- • Join Globalization Partners (G-P), a trailblazing SaaS company that empowers businesses to expand globally with unprecedented speed and ease. Our innovative Global Employment Platform™ removes the complexities of establishing local entities, enabling clients to operate in over 180 countries. At G-P, we are driven by a mission to dismantle barriers to international business and foster opportunities for individuals and organizations worldwide.
- • As an Associate Commercial Counsel based in Portugal, you will play a pivotal role within our dynamic, remote-first environment, contributing significantly to the ongoing growth and success of G-P across the EMEA region and on a global scale.
- • This role offers an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in a high-volume contract negotiation environment, primarily focusing on customer and vendor agreements within the EMEA region, while also supporting broader commercial legal matters.
- • You will be instrumental in the timely preparation, meticulous review, and skillful negotiation of a wide array of contracts and related legal documents. This includes, but is not limited to, master services agreements, consulting agreements, license agreements, and vendor agreements. While the majority of these contracts will be in English, your ability to navigate complex legal language is paramount.
- • A key responsibility will be to provide astute legal advice to the business on contractual rights, obligations, and potential risks. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping stakeholders understand the implications of contractual terms and ensuring alignment with G-P's strategic objectives.
- • You will take ownership of preparing and delivering comprehensive training sessions to our Sales team and other internal departments. These sessions will focus on key legal aspects of contracts, compliance, and best practices, empowering our teams to operate effectively and mitigate risks.
- • Effective contract management is crucial. You will actively work within the Company’s contract management system, ensuring the accurate maintenance of life-cycle requirements. This includes proactive training for users and timely alerts to internal clients regarding key contract dates, renewal periods, and required actions, thereby preventing missed deadlines and ensuring continuity.
- • Your role will involve the critical analysis and revision of contracts to guarantee strict compliance with company policies, relevant regulations, and legal standards. This requires a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of the legal landscape.
- • You will be expected to perform other contract-related activities and special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to evolving legal needs.
- • Beyond core contract work, you will assist with a variety of other legal tasks as needed, which may include conducting legal research, supporting due diligence efforts, and contributing to the development of legal templates and playbooks.
- • You will coordinate and drive the completion of commercial-related projects, as well as other assorted legal team projects. This proactive approach is essential for addressing the dynamic needs of a global, high-growth company and ensuring the legal team remains agile and responsive.
- • This position demands a pragmatic, sales-focused mindset combined with a strong work ethic and a collaborative spirit. You will be a dedicated team player, contributing to a positive and productive legal function.
- • A high degree of professionalism is expected, particularly in our client-service-focused setting. You will interact with internal stakeholders and potentially external parties with courtesy, efficiency, and expertise.
- • Your ability to communicate effectively with various levels of the organization, including senior management, is vital. You will translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice.
- • You will leverage your sound legal judgment, creative problem-solving abilities, and strong analytical skills to navigate challenges and identify optimal solutions.
- • Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills are essential to manage a high volume of work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- • You must be diligent, demonstrating a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of your work.
- • The capacity to work independently, take initiative, and also function seamlessly as part of a collaborative team is key.
- • We are looking for an individual with genuine enthusiasm to engage with new areas of law and diverse jurisdictions, reflecting G-P's global reach.
- • You should be adept at thinking on your feet, managing multiple priorities, and proactively addressing potential issues before they arise.
- • A core competency will be the ability to provide clear, concise guidance on complex and sensitive legal issues, always with an appropriate understanding and assessment of commercial risk.
- • This role is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a rapidly expanding global company, gain exposure to a wide range of international commercial legal matters, and develop your career within a supportive and innovative team.
🎯 Requirements
- • An active license to practice law in a recognized jurisdiction.
- • 4-6 years of progressive experience in commercial law, with a significant focus on contract negotiation, drafting, and administration.
- • Exceptional attention to detail, with a proven ability to meticulously review and analyze legal documents.
- • Strong English language written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
- • Proven ability to provide clear guidance on complex and sensitive issues with an appropriate sense of commercial risk.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive compensation package.
- • Eligibility for a commission structure (for sales-related roles) or an annual bonus (for non-sales roles), dependent on individual and company performance.
- • Opportunity to work remotely in a global, fast-paced, and innovative company.
