- • The Associate Controls Engineer will assist in the commissioning of automated sortation systems, implementing site-based controls for new equipment within customer facilities under the supervision of Sr. Controls Engineers, ensuring drawings and software are completed, installed, commissioned, validated, and documented.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include writing and implementing PLC code, integrating subsystems, developing HMI interfaces using tools like Ignition or FactoryTalk View, reviewing electrical designs, supporting complex system commissioning, providing site engineering support, and participating in acceptance testing.
- • FORTNA partners with leading brands to transform omnichannel and parcel distribution operations through intelligent software and automation, delivering optimized order fulfillment and last-mile delivery solutions with a culture centered on collaboration, diversity, and empowerment.
- • The role offers hands-on experience in industrial automation, PLC/HMI programming, system integration, and site commissioning, enabling growth in technical expertise, problem-solving, and collaboration within a dynamic engineering team focused on innovative material handling and robotics solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or comparable field
- • Familiarity with basic electronic/electrical schematics or components
- • Experience with PLC programming (Rockwell Software, Siemens, or Schneider) and HMI programming (FactoryTalk View or Ignition)
- • Knowledge of industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Devicenet, Profinet, etc.) and IO devices
- • Ability to lift 50 pounds and navigate warehouse automation equipment safely
- • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office Apps
