• • As a Billing Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the entire billing lifecycle, from invoice generation to reconciliation and reporting. You will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing a high volume of diverse invoices, including subscription-based, project-based, usage-based, and one-time charges. Accuracy and timeliness are paramount, requiring a keen eye for detail to verify data from sales orders, service reports, and usage logs, ensuring all information is complete and correct before invoice submission. You will manage complex recurring billing cycles and subscription invoicing, adhering strictly to company policies and accounting principles, particularly revenue recognition standards like ASC 606.
• • A significant aspect of this role involves meticulous billing reconciliation and analysis. You will perform regular reconciliations for critical accounts such as deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and accounts receivable (AR). This proactive approach will enable you to identify and investigate billing discrepancies, short payments, and customer queries swiftly and efficiently. By analyzing billing data, you will uncover trends, pinpoint potential issues, and identify opportunities for revenue optimization, contributing directly to the company's financial health. Your analytical skills will be instrumental in ensuring that our billing practices are not only accurate but also strategically aligned with revenue goals.
• • Collaboration is key to success in this position. You will serve as the primary point of contact for billing-related inquiries from both internal departments – including Sales, Operations, and Customer Service – and our external customer base. You will work closely with Sales and Legal teams to thoroughly interpret contracts, ensuring that billing setups accurately reflect contractual obligations. Maintaining precise customer account data within our ERP and billing systems is a core responsibility, requiring diligent data management and upkeep. This cross-functional interaction ensures seamless operations and fosters strong relationships built on trust and accuracy.
• • Beyond day-to-day operations, you will be a catalyst for process improvement and system enhancement. We encourage you to identify opportunities for automation and implement efficiency enhancements within the billing workflow. Your involvement will extend to participating in the testing and rollout of new billing software or modules, ensuring smooth transitions and optimal system performance. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of comprehensive documentation and robust internal controls for all billing processes, reinforcing our commitment to best practices and compliance.
• • This role also requires active participation in month-end and year-end close activities, providing essential support for billing and revenue recognition. You will be tasked with generating various billing reports, summaries, and ad-hoc analyses as requested by management, offering insights that drive informed decision-making. The ability to manage high-volume enterprise transactions with precision and efficiency is a fundamental requirement for this position, reflecting the scale and complexity of PAR Technology's operations.
• • The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, with a specific emphasis on revenue recognition (ASC 606). Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or accounting systems such as Dynamics 365 F&O, Salesforce, Versapay, Sage, or NetSuite is highly desirable. Exceptional Excel skills, including advanced functions like VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, coupled with strong analytical thinking, are essential for navigating and interpreting financial data. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional phone etiquette, and a customer-focused attitude are vital for effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels. Strong organizational skills and an unwavering attention to accuracy will ensure the integrity of all billing operations.
