- • Obtains insurance information from patients and counsels them on alternative financial assistance options over the phone or via email.
- • Schedules and registers patients for Obstetrics and Gynecology appointments remotely, with no in-person patient contact.
- • Reviews and updates patient schedules as needed, ensuring accurate and timely appointment availability.
- • Calls patients to provide appointment time reminders and collects required insurance information and referral forms.
- • Processes internal physician referrals for clinical care within the department.
- • Explains the billing process to patients and responds to inquiries from patients and third-party payers regarding charges and payments.
- • Assists staff with basic account maintenance activities and provides billing process guidance to internal team members.
- • Addresses patient questions related to insurance coverage and billing procedures.
- • Supports scheduling operations by assisting with the distribution of reminder cards and managing results from the Relatient patient reminder system.
- • Makes daily edits and temporary adjustments to provider scheduling templates based on physician input.
- • Works collaboratively with team members to resolve moderately complex scheduling and billing issues.
- • Performs other administrative and operational duties as assigned to support the smooth functioning of the Obstetrics and Gynecology scheduling and billing functions.
🎯 Requirements
- • High school diploma or equivalent certification
- • Three years of relevant work experience
- • Proficiency in Billing Systems, Epic EHR, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Office
- • Strong skills in Customer Service, Interpersonal Communication, Scheduling, and Prioritization
- • Knowledge of Insurance, Third Party Claims, and Medical Office Support procedures
