  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bioinformatics Engineer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in supporting our major pharmaceutical clients by enhancing their high-throughput sequencing analysis capabilities. You will be responsible for the comprehensive review, assessment, optimization, integration, and extension of production-grade bioinformatics workflows. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of genomics analysis methodologies, coupled with strong software engineering principles and extensive experience in cloud computing environments.
  • In this role, you will delve into the intricacies of large-scale genomic datasets, applying your expertise to develop and refine robust, scalable, and efficient bioinformatics pipelines. Your contributions will directly impact the speed and accuracy of drug discovery and development processes for our clients.
  • Key responsibilities will include:
  • Designing, implementing, and optimizing bioinformatics workflows for the analysis of diverse high-throughput sequencing data (e.g., WGS, WES, RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq).
  • Evaluating and integrating existing bioinformatics tools and pipelines to ensure seamless operation and maximum efficiency.
  • Developing custom software solutions and scripts to address specific analytical challenges and extend existing functionalities.
  • Collaborating closely with clients, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their research needs and translate them into effective bioinformatics solutions.
  • Ensuring the reproducibility, scalability, and maintainability of all developed workflows and software.
  • Implementing and managing cloud-based infrastructure for bioinformatics analyses, leveraging platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Staying abreast of the latest advancements in genomics, bioinformatics, and computational biology, and applying this knowledge to improve our methodologies.
  • Contributing to the documentation of workflows, software, and best practices.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to data analysis, pipeline execution, and software performance.
  • Participating in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

🎯 Requirements

  • Proven experience in developing, optimizing, and deploying production-grade bioinformatics pipelines for high-throughput sequencing data analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python, R, or Perl, and experience with workflow management systems (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake, Cromwell).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for large-scale data analysis and workflow deployment.
  • Solid understanding of genomics, molecular biology, and statistical methods relevant to biological data analysis.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative field.
