Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Adyen is a leading financial technology platform providing integrated payments, data, and financial products to global enterprises like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. Our core philosophy is that everything we do is engineered for ambition, fostering an environment where motivated individuals can own their careers and tackle unique technical challenges at scale.
- • This role is at the forefront of Agentic Commerce, a revolutionary shift in digital payments where AI agents will negotiate, book, and transact on behalf of consumers, moving beyond traditional human-initiated purchases.
- • As the Commercial Lead for Agentic Commerce, you will be instrumental in defining and executing Adyen’s Go-to-Market strategy for this nascent and rapidly evolving channel.
- • This is a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of Commercial Go-to-Market Strategy, Account Management, and Product Development, working closely with Adyen's leadership to bring our innovative "Universal Translator" strategy to the global market.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to transition the Agentic Commerce offering from its current pilot phase to a scalable market solution.
- • This involves identifying and engaging with key first-mover merchants, meticulously structuring the commercial approach, and establishing a robust feedback loop between market insights and our Product team to drive continuous improvement.
- • You will serve as a trusted advisor to C-level executives at Adyen's largest enterprise clients, guiding them through the complexities of agentic commerce.
- • This includes helping them navigate the hype surrounding AI, understand critical infrastructure risks such as fraud and identity verification, and architect their data feeds to effectively support the agentic economy.
- • A key aspect of the role is orchestrating the broader ecosystem by acting as the commercial bridge between Adyen's merchants and major AI platforms like OpenAI and Google.
- • Your efforts will ensure Adyen maintains its position as a neutral and essential connector within this increasingly fragmented technological landscape.
- • You will be responsible for enabling Adyen's internal organization by translating your market learnings into a comprehensive Go-to-Market engine.
- • This includes collaborating closely with the marketing team to train our wider Sales and Account Management teams, equipping them with the fluency to discuss complex topics such as tokens, LLMs, and agentic protocols.
- • A critical focus will be on protecting the merchant by championing Adyen's "Merchant-First" principles.
- • You will ensure that as agentic commerce protocols evolve, they consistently prioritize merchant control, robust data privacy, and effective liability protection.
- • This role operates within the "Innovation Lab" at the epicenter of the AI boom, with a specific focus on securing and managing high-velocity pilots with US-based AI platforms in key technology hubs like San Francisco, Seattle, and New York.
- • You will drive speed to market by helping our largest US enterprise merchants across Retail, Mobility, and Platforms sectors launch their first "Instant Checkout" use cases, enabling them to capture early market share in this transformative space.
- • Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to co-create solutions with clients rather than relying on pre-defined materials.
- • You will leverage a strong commercial acumen, demonstrated by a track record of navigating complex enterprise organizations and driving strategic initiatives that yield tangible volume and business impact.
- • Technical fluency is essential; you must be able to articulate complex payment concepts like Network Tokens and Virtual Cards to financial executives and engage in detailed discussions about API schemas with Product Managers, demonstrating a deep understanding of the payments stack.
- • While not requiring deep ML engineering expertise, a strong curiosity about AI infrastructure, including agentic frameworks, decision-making processes, and transaction initiation by AI agents, is crucial. Familiarity with emerging agent protocols and model provider approaches to commerce is highly advantageous.
- • You will possess an "anti-hype" mentality, cutting through the noise to focus on solving real operational problems related to inventory visibility, authentication, and liability, rather than engaging in speculative discussions.
- • Exceptional collaboration skills are vital, as you will work seamlessly across Commercial, Product, Legal, and Partnerships teams to overcome obstacles and resolve challenges in real-time within Adyen's flat organizational structure.
- • The role demands 6-8 years of experience in commercial-facing or GTM strategy roles, with prior experience in payments or financial technology being a significant advantage.
- • This is a pivotal moment as agentic commerce is in its foundational infrastructure phase, with protocols, standards, and commercial models currently being defined and tested.
- • In this position, you will not be executing an established playbook but will be instrumental in authoring it, influencing how AI-initiated transactions operate at scale across Adyen's extensive enterprise client base.
