📋 Description

• As a Data Analyst (AI) at AnyVan, you will be at the forefront of transforming how data drives decisions in a fast-growing logistics technology company, using AI and automation to eliminate inefficiencies and create scalable solutions that directly impact business performance.
• You will partner closely with Ops, Commercial, Sales, and Customer Success teams to identify operational friction, translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations, and implement AI-powered tools that reduce manual work and accelerate decision-making.
• AnyVan is a purpose-driven scale-up with a mission to reduce wasted miles in logistics, having already saved over 8,520 tonnes of carbon annually and served 5 million customers across the UK and Europe, offering a unique opportunity to combine technical impact with environmental and social value.
• In this role, you will rapidly grow your expertise in AI-native analytics, mastering LLMs, automation platforms, and modern data stacks like Snowflake and Tableau, while building a portfolio of real-world applications that demonstrate tangible business outcomes.
• You will own end-to-end data intelligence projects — from exploratory analysis and KPI monitoring to designing and deploying automated workflows — ensuring your work moves beyond reporting to drive measurable improvements in efficiency, revenue, and customer experience.
• The role emphasizes high autonomy and bias-for-action, empowering you to experiment with cutting-edge AI use cases such as sentiment analysis, forecasting, and process automation, with immediate feedback loops and zero tolerance for bureaucratic delays.
• You will help evolve AnyVan’s commercial tech stack by optimizing tools used daily by non-technical teams, ensuring data accessibility and usability are enhanced through thoughtful design and integration.
• Your contributions will directly support AnyVan’s growth trajectory, enabling the company to scale its operations while maintaining its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and high-performance culture.

🎯 Requirements

• A degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or Engineering.
• 2-4 years of experience in a fast-paced business environment, preferably in a scale-up or marketplace, with strong SQL proficiency and hands-on experience in data analysis and reporting.
• Demonstrated passion and practical experience using AI tools (e.g., LLMs like ChatGPT or Claude) to automate repetitive tasks, streamline workflows, or enhance analytical outputs.
• Proven ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders, translating findings into actionable business recommendations.
• Eligibility to work in South Africa with valid work permits if required, and willingness to work from the Cape Town office at least three days per week.
