- • As a Data Annotation Specialist for Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), you will play a critical role in improving the performance of Cohere’s large language models by labeling, ranking, auditing, and correcting Arabic language data, directly contributing to the quality and safety of AI systems used for content generation, semantic search, RAG, and agents.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include accurately labeling and ranking machine learning data in MSA, auditing and correcting inaccuracies in text, image, JSON, TSV/CSV, or Markdown formats, completing reading and text-based tasks with high attention to detail, evaluating preference-based responses in MSA, recommending optimizations for data quality, providing feedback to cross-functional teams on language-related matters, and maintaining meticulous execution during repetitive annotation tasks.
- • You will join a global team of researchers, engineers, and designers at Cohere, a company dedicated to scaling intelligence to serve humanity through frontier AI models, where diverse perspectives are valued and innovation is driven by rigorous, detail-oriented work.
- • In this role, you will develop advanced skills in linguistic data annotation, gain hands-on experience with AI training pipelines, sharpen your attention to detail and analytical thinking, and contribute meaningfully to the development of safer, more accurate language models — all while working remotely within Canada on a flexible, part-time independent contractor basis.
🎯 Requirements
- • Native or near-native proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) with excellent command over English
- • Expert reading and writing skills in MSA, demonstrated through a written test
- • Basic familiarity with JSON, TSV, CSV, or Markdown data manipulation
- • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- • High tolerance for repetitive and monotonous work
- • Ability to follow complex instructions, navigate ambiguity, and work independently
