- • As a Data Platform Engineer - OLAP at Adyen, you will build and maintain the foundational layer of tooling and processes for the on-premise Analytical Data Platforms that support tens of products, hundreds of developers, and thousands of daily jobs, enabling scalable, reliable, and secure data analytics across the organization.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include developing high-performance OLAP systems for multi-tenant query workloads and ingestion pipelines, ensuring system reliability through observability and engineering excellence, building self-service tooling for data engineers and analysts, engineering automated data quality frameworks, architecting integrations with adjacent distributed systems, and optimizing cluster resource efficiency while adhering to global security and data privacy standards.
- • You will sit at the intersection of Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, and Systems Engineering, collaborating with Data and ML Engineers, as well as other platform engineers, to position the OLAP ecosystem within Adyen’s broader Data/AI/ML Platform powered by Hadoop, Kubernetes, Spark, Trino, Flink, and Ray.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems at scale, gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge OLAP technologies and cloud-native infrastructure, and contribute to innovative, ethical solutions that power Adyen’s financial technology platform for global enterprises like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft.
🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in Python and/or Java; Golang or Rust are appreciated
- • Experience with OLAP technologies such as Druid, Clickhouse, Pinot, Doris, or Starrocks
- • Experience in Kubernetes and infrastructure for large-scale private cloud systems
- • Experience in CI/CD pipelines for code and infrastructure automation
- • Experience developing and maintaining distributed data and compute systems like Spark, Trino, or similar
- • Experience with real-time and batch data pipelines via Kafka, Spark streaming, with emphasis on user friendliness and quality
