As a DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in building and owning the delivery systems that empower our teams to ship code and innovations with unwavering confidence. • • This role is a greenfield opportunity to fundamentally shape how software is built, tested, and deployed across Foresight Diagnostics. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust CI/CD architectures, driving comprehensive automation initiatives across both Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS), and serving as the essential infrastructure partner that our engineering and science teams depend on for seamless operations.
• • Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with software engineers, bioinformatics scientists, and operations teams, leveraging key technologies such as GitHub Actions, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes across our GCP and AWS environments. Specifically, you will:
• • Design, build, and meticulously maintain sophisticated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. This includes automating the entire lifecycle of builds, comprehensive testing suites, and seamless deployments across development, staging, and production environments, ensuring speed and reliability.
• • Implement and manage robust infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions utilizing Terraform. This ensures that our infrastructure deployments are repeatable, version-controlled, auditable, and easily managed, providing a solid foundation for our growing platform.
• • Automate the deployment and configuration of critical applications, complex bioinformatics pipelines, and essential supporting services. This will span across both our GCP and AWS cloud infrastructures, enhancing efficiency and consistency.
• • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and Shell/Bash. These scripts will be crucial for reducing manual operational tasks, significantly improving deployment reliability, and accelerating developer velocity, allowing teams to focus on innovation.
• • Manage and orchestrate containerized applications effectively using Docker and Kubernetes. You will also leverage cloud-native container services such as Google Cloud Run and various AWS container services to optimize application delivery and scalability.
• • Configure and maintain comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions. This provides essential visibility into the health and performance of our applications and pipelines, enabling proactive issue resolution.
• • Implement stringent security controls across all CI/CD pipelines. This includes robust secrets management, granular access controls, and automated vulnerability scanning, all with a critical focus on the requirements of a regulated clinical environment.
• • Manage configuration for application environments and specialized bioinformatics workstations, ensuring consistency and compliance.
• • Create clear, comprehensive, and actionable documentation for deployment processes, operational runbooks, and troubleshooting guides. This documentation is vital for supporting our regulatory compliance requirements and ensuring knowledge transfer.
• • Actively drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing deployment friction, optimizing build times, and enhancing overall developer productivity and satisfaction.
• • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to development teams, sharing expertise on DevOps best practices, cloud-native architectural patterns, and effective tooling strategies.
