• • In this pivotal role as a DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in architecting, constructing, and maintaining the robust infrastructure that empowers BJAK’s engineering teams to deliver software reliably, securely, and at an immense scale. You will forge strong collaborative relationships with our developers, working hand-in-hand to conceptualize and implement efficient deployment workflows, meticulously manage our production systems, and continuously elevate the reliability, performance, and security posture across our diverse cloud environments.
• • This is a deeply hands-on position, ideally suited for an individual who thrives on end-to-end system ownership, relishes the challenge of solving complex real-world production issues, and is passionate about building scalable platforms that directly support and accelerate the velocity of our fast-moving product teams. Your contributions will be critical in ensuring the stability and efficiency of our cutting-edge financial services platform.
• • Key responsibilities will encompass the comprehensive design, development, and ongoing maintenance of sophisticated CI/CD pipelines. These pipelines will be engineered to facilitate seamless automated build, rigorous testing, and efficient deployment workflows, ensuring rapid and reliable software delivery.
• • You will take ownership of managing, operating, and scaling our Kubernetes clusters, whether they are hosted on managed services like EKS, GKE, AKS, or self-managed solutions. This includes ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and efficient resource utilization.
• • A significant part of your role will involve provisioning and maintaining our cloud infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, utilizing tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation. This approach guarantees consistency, repeatability, and version control for our infrastructure.
• • You will be tasked with proactively improving system reliability, performance, availability, and scalability. This involves identifying potential bottlenecks, implementing performance optimizations, and designing for resilience against failures.
• • The implementation and maintenance of comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems are crucial. You will leverage tools like Prometheus, Grafana, the ELK stack, or Datadog to gain deep visibility into system health and performance, enabling swift detection and resolution of issues.
• • Supporting zero-downtime deployments, implementing effective rollback strategies, and refining our release processes will be key to minimizing service disruption and ensuring continuous delivery.
• • You will be on the front lines of troubleshooting production issues, which may include diagnosing and resolving latency problems, handling various error codes (e.g., 502s), addressing pod crashes, managing Out-Of-Memory (OOM) errors, and resolving complex networking challenges.
• • Implementing and rigorously enforcing security best practices is paramount. This includes secure secrets management, fine-grained Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, and robust network policies to protect our systems and data.
• • Close collaboration with software engineers is essential. You will work together on defining optimal deployment strategies, contributing to system design decisions, and ensuring operational readiness for new features and services.
