đź“‹ Description

  • • As a DevSecOps Engineer at Deel, you will play a critical role in securing the infrastructure and software delivery pipelines that power a global HR and payroll platform serving millions of workers across 150+ countries, directly contributing to the company’s mission of unlocking global opportunity through compliant, scalable technology.
  • • You will design, implement, and maintain automated security processes within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that code is continuously scanned for vulnerabilities, infrastructure is hardened against threats, and security is embedded into every stage of development — making you a key enabler of Deel’s rapid, secure innovation.
  • • You will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to foster a culture of shared responsibility for security, acting as a bridge between engineering and compliance to ensure that security requirements are understood, integrated, and continuously improved across the organization.
  • • You will work with cutting-edge cloud and infrastructure technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native security tools like Checkov, tfsec, and Terrascan, gaining deep expertise in infrastructure-as-code security, policy-as-code, and cloud security posture management.
  • • You will contribute to compliance efforts by supporting audits, documenting security controls, and helping Deel meet stringent regulatory standards (such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) across its global operations, giving you tangible experience in enterprise-grade security governance.
  • • You will develop and tune WAF and firewall configurations (e.g., Cloudflare), implement continuous monitoring via log analysis and intrusion detection systems, and respond to security events — building hands-on experience in real-time threat detection and incident response in a high-scale SaaS environment.
  • • You will grow into a trusted security advisor within Deel’s globally distributed engineering organization, influencing security best practices, mentoring peers, and positioning yourself as a leader in the evolving DevSecOps field — all while working remotely with a diverse, high-performing team spanning 100+ countries and 74 languages.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Security, SecOps, or DevSecOps roles, with proven ability to implement security automation in CI/CD pipelines.
  • • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) security scanning tools such as Checkov, tfsec, or Terrascan to identify and remediate misconfigurations in Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar templates.
  • • Solid programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python, along with experience using Git for version control and working within CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • • Familiarity with core security principles including OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices, encryption, authentication, access control, and threat modeling.
  • • Experience managing and tuning WAF and firewall configurations (e.g., Cloudflare or equivalent) to protect web applications and APIs.
  • • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), configuration management, and observability/monitoring tools.
  • • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (developers, ops, security) to advocate for and integrate security practices into development workflows.
  • • Knowledge of automation tools for security processes, including SAST, DAST, vulnerability management systems, and log analysis platforms.
  • • While not required, relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AWS Security Specialty, OSCP, or similar) are considered advantageous.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Stock grant opportunities tied to role, employment status, and location, allowing you to share in Deel’s success as a rapidly growing, $17.3B-valued company.
  • • Additional perks and benefits customized based on employment status and country of residence, ensuring equitable and localized support for global team members.
  • • Full remote work flexibility, including optional access to WeWork spaces for those who prefer hybrid or in-person collaboration environments.
  • • Comprehensive total rewards program designed for inclusivity and access, reflecting Deel’s commitment to supporting employees wherever they are in the world.
  • • Opportunity to work on impactful, large-scale systems that process over $11.2B in annual worker payouts and serve customers in 109 countries, giving your work real-world global significance.
  • • Access to cutting-edge AI-powered tools and technologies, including deepfake and fraud detection systems used in hiring, with assurance that personal data is not used to train models and human oversight is maintained in all decisions.
  • • Employer commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with formal accommodations available during recruitment for applicants with disabilities via a dedicated request process.
  • • Transparent use of Automated Employment Decision Tools (AEDT) and AI in hiring, with independent bias audits available for review (e.g., NYC Local Law 144 compliance) and human oversight preserved in final decisions.
