- • As Director, Engineering at Smithfield Foods, you will lead engineering operations across key functional areas to optimize production processes, boost efficiency, and eliminate waste—directly impacting the bottom line while supporting iconic brands like Smithfield, Eckrich, and Nathan’s Famous.
- • You will lead engineering teams across multiple disciplines, oversee capital and maintenance budgets, develop strategic operational plans, and ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations while driving performance to meet operational goals cost-effectively.
- • You will partner with HR to develop leadership programs, manage performance, build a diverse and high-performing workforce, and foster a culture of safety, communication, empowerment, and recognition through employee development and coaching.
- • You will analyze asset utilization data, structure models for optimal replacement timing, increase asset longevity, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Safety, etc.) to resolve complex challenges and drive strategic initiatives that elevate business performance.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, Business, or a related field and 10+ years of relevant experience in Engineering management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role involving team development and management.
- • Prior experience in an engineer role is required.
- • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
- • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, written and oral communication, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability skills.
- • Ability to communicate technical ideas effectively to non-technical audiences.
