- • As the Director of Data Governance at Deel, you will lead the transformation of the company’s data ecosystem from fragmented silos into a unified, high-quality enterprise asset, ensuring data accuracy, security, and readiness for advanced AI and analytics initiatives.
- • You will define and execute the Data Governance roadmap, own and enforce data policies, lead the Data Governance Council, and drive data quality, standardization, and remediation efforts across the organization.
- • You will collaborate with Security, CFO, and compliance teams to ensure AI readiness, data classification, access control, and adherence to global privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA, while aligning with Deel’s Enterprise Information & Governance mandates.
- • You will build and manage a network of Data Stewards and Owners, foster a data-literate culture, and provide executive reporting to the CFO and leadership on governance maturity, risk, and ROI of data quality initiatives.
- • You will operate within a fast-growing, globally distributed SaaS company valued at $17.3B with over $1B in ARR, serving clients in 150+ countries and processing $11.2B in payments annually, where your work directly impacts millions of global workers.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, or Information Architecture, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- • Deep understanding of data profiling tools, metadata harvesters, and modern data stack technologies including Snowflake and dbt
- • Proven experience with AI systems in production environments
- • Demonstrated ability to draft Decision Papers and Charters that secure executive buy-in
- • Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK frameworks and data quality lifecycle management
- • Exceptional skill in translating technical data risks into clear business impact for C-suite stakeholders
