📋 Description

• As Director of Security at BioRender, you will set the security vision and governance for a company shipping AI‑powered features to enterprise customers handling sensitive research data.
• Day to day, you’ll partner with engineering and product to secure AI coding workflows and customer‑facing products, lead incident response, and scale security via automation.
• BioRender is a remote‑first platform that accelerates science communication—used in 54,000+ publications and loved by millions across 200+ countries.
• In this role, you can shape compliance posture, own the Trust Center and customer security narrative, and build a high‑impact security culture.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in security leadership with experience building or scaling a security program at a fast‑growing SaaS company.
• Deep hands‑on knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27001, and similar compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of appsec and AI product/software security risks and mitigations.
• Proven record partnering with product and engineering to set policy, guardrails, and governance.
• Preference for automation-first approaches to scale security operations.
• Experience with enterprise security needs in regulated or research‑intensive industries.
• Excellent change‑management skills and ability to earn trust across technical and non‑technical teams.
• Strong communication skills and customer‑facing experience for security reviews and documentation.
