- • Design and execute large-scale data migrations for clients across the full lifecycle, from onboarding through post-onboarding support, ensuring accuracy and compliance with sensitive dataset requirements
- • Develop and optimize SQL scripts, stored procedures, and protocols to automate and standardize data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes for complex client datasets
- • Implement and maintain ETL pipelines using industry-standard tools and scripting to acquire, clean, and load large volumes of data into NGP VAN’s platform
- • Scope, prioritize, and deliver client-requested one-off data edits, exports, and custom reporting tasks with precision and timeliness
- • Collaborate directly with Sales, Engineering, and Product teams to align on project timelines, resolve technical roadblocks, and translate client needs into actionable technical solutions
- • Partner with Account Management to fulfill client import, export, migration, and reporting requirements, acting as the primary technical liaison for data-related requests
- • Manage independent workflows to balance multiple high-priority client projects while maintaining clear documentation and adherence to internal protocols
- • Document solutions, create knowledge base articles, and support team onboarding and upskilling as the Data Operations team expands
- • Ensure all data operations comply with nonprofit and political sector standards, including fundraising, compliance, and field workflow constraints
- • Work within a union-represented environment under CWA Local 1101, 1400, 2336, or 13000, adhering to collective bargaining agreements and labor protections
- • Maintain familiarity with source control practices using Git to track changes in scripts and configurations
- • Contribute to continuous improvement of data standards, error handling, and process efficiency across client engagements
- • Support junior team members through mentorship and peer review as the organization scales its technical operations
- • Work exclusively with MS SQL Server and NGP VAN platforms to perform all data engineering and migration tasks
- • Prioritize security, data integrity, and confidentiality when handling sensitive political and nonprofit donor data
- • Maintain clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and client satisfaction
- • Ensure all deliverables meet contractual obligations and platform specifications under tight deadlines
- • Participate in team-wide knowledge sharing initiatives to institutionalize best practices and reduce dependency on individual expertise
- • Operate in a remote, U.S.-only environment with full ownership of data operations responsibilities
- • Complete your first client migration within the first 90 days of employment
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong SQL skills — comfortable writing complex queries, stored procedures, and troubleshooting scripts independently
- • Solid understanding of relational database structure
- • Background in nonprofit or political data (fundraising, compliance, or field workflows)
- • Experience with large-scale data migrations and sensitive datasets
- • Proficiency with ETL applications or scripting
- • Experience with MS SQL Server and NGP VAN
