- • Engineering Manager for the Platform team at OpenRouter, leading the infrastructure that powers AI routing and serves millions of LLM requests daily.
- • Build and lead the platform team by hiring engineers, setting technical direction, and fostering an environment where strong individual contributors thrive and grow.
- • Stay hands-on by writing code, reviewing architecture, debugging production issues, and making real-time technical decisions alongside your team.
- • Own technical strategy for edge, cloud, and data infrastructure, making trade-off decisions that ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- • Drive projects through ambiguity by diagnosing technical, resourcing, or prioritization blockers and steering solutions forward.
- • Partner with engineering leadership on capacity, reliability, and cost across the routing layer, representing the platform team’s needs to executive stakeholders.

🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of engineering management experience, including at least one experience building or scaling a team during rapid growth
- • Strong technical foundation in infrastructure, platform engineering, or related domains such as edge compute, distributed systems, databases, security, or cloud infrastructure
- • Hands-on engineering ability: comfortable writing code, using AI-assisted development tools, and leading by example in a technical team
- • Proven ability to recruit and retain strong engineers, with experience building teams people want to join
- • High agency and clear communication: identifies priorities, drives plans forward, and communicates trade-offs with substance
- • Pragmatic mindset: optimizes for speed and clarity in a lean organization, avoiding unnecessary process
