- • As an Engineering Manager for Search Storage at Reddit, you will lead a team responsible for building and operating the foundational search infrastructure that powers Reddit’s platform, enabling scalable, reliable, and high-performance search capabilities across lexical, semantic, and ranking use cases.
- • Day to day, you will steer high-leverage projects aligned with Reddit’s goals, build and grow your engineering team, mentor individual contributors, collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering teams, and evolve your technical and leadership skills while driving innovation in storage systems like Milvus, Vespa, and Solr.
- • You will join a team of software and machine learning engineers at Reddit who are pushing the boundaries of search infrastructure, leveraging Kubernetes and distributed systems to support one of the internet’s largest platforms with over 126 million daily active users and 100,000+ active communities.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in large-scale storage systems, vector similarity search, and infrastructure orchestration, while developing your people management and strategic leadership abilities in a high-impact, AI-driven environment at one of the web’s most influential platforms.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years experience in people management of high performing engineering teams
- • 7+ years experience on backend infrastructure with a focus on storage systems, including 5+ years in high-scale environments
- • Experience with running storage systems atop orchestration/distributed systems such as Kubernetes
- • Strong focus on scalability, performance, and quality with deep intuition for how critical infra systems work at scale
- • High empathy, excellent communication skills, and ability to find compromise across the engineering organization
