Founding Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE This is a founding engineering role at an early-stage AI-native startup building go-to-market automation tools for sales and marketing teams. You will work directly alongside the founding team in New York, owning major product areas from day one and shipping features that have immediate impact on real customers. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Collaborate in person with founders to define product requirements, build features, and iterate based on customer feedback. - Build core product infrastructure including APIs, backend systems, and interfaces designed for both human users and AI agents. - Ship production-ready AI features that power customer go-to-market workflows end-to-end, from development through deployment. - Join customer meetings to understand needs, demo solutions, and translate feedback directly into product improvements. - Adopt the latest AI tooling and coding agents to accelerate development while applying sound engineering judgment. - Establish AI-native engineering workflows and processes that compound team velocity over time. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 3+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping and iterating quickly in production environments. - Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript for building APIs, backend systems, and user interfaces. - Solid data modeling fundamentals and the ability to design scalable systems. - Hands-on experience building and deploying AI or LLM-based features in production. - Comfort using AI coding agents as a daily development tool, balanced with good technical judgment. - Experience working in early-stage startup environments, ideally with direct founder collaboration. - Ownership-oriented mindset with a desire to influence product and roadmap decisions. - Bonus: experience with go-to-market workflows, outbound campaigns, or customer-facing technical work. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary range: $137,000 to $190,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION On-site in New York, New York, United States (Union Square area). This role requires in-person attendance; remote work is not available.
