📋 Description

• Own the full lifecycle of green-field product features for private-equity backed software companies, from white-board sketches to production deployments that serve millions of end-users across healthcare, fintech, and industrial IoT verticals.
• Architect and implement secure, scalable, and observable systems on AWS and Azure using TypeScript, Node.js, Python, React, and Next.js, ensuring sub-second latency and 99.9 % uptime while handling 10× traffic spikes during client acquisition events.
• Embed AI as a first-class capability: fine-tune open-source LLMs, build retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, and integrate vector databases to power intelligent search, summarization, and recommendation features that materially increase customer retention and upsell revenue.
• Leverage AI productivity tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, CodeWhisperer) to accelerate test generation, documentation, and refactoring—freeing 20 % of your week for higher-impact design and experimentation.
• Collaborate daily with product managers, UX designers, and data scientists in a fully remote, async-first environment; run architecture guilds and brown-bag sessions to raise the technical bar across 30+ client engagements.
• Champion clean-code practices, enforce 80 % unit-test coverage, and lead blameless post-mortems that turn production incidents into reusable playbooks and automated guardrails.
• Contribute to Crosslake’s internal accelerator libraries—open-source-style reusable components for auth, observability, and AI orchestration—used by every engagement team to cut onboarding time from weeks to days.
• Influence technology due-diligence decisions for upcoming PE deals by packaging your engineering insights into concise memos that shape multi-million-dollar investment theses.
• Rotate quarterly across client codebases, sharpening domain expertise in areas such as HIPAA-compliant data pipelines, real-time fraud detection, and predictive maintenance for industrial equipment.
• Mentor junior engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and career-path planning, ensuring the next generation of Crosslake talent is ready to lead engagements within 12 months.
• Stay ahead of the curve by experimenting with emerging AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGPT) and presenting findings to the broader engineering community during monthly “Tech Horizon” webinars.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience with a balanced portfolio of production-grade frontend and backend systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
• Demonstrated experience deploying and operating cloud-native applications on AWS or Azure with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CDK, or Pulumi)
• Hands-on implementation of AI/ML features using modern LLMs, embeddings, or agent frameworks in a commercial product environment
• Strong command of TypeScript/JavaScript and at least one backend language (Node.js, Python, Go, or Java) in microservice architectures
