📋 Description

• Full-Stack Software Engineer role focused on designing and implementing safe services, systems, and infrastructure that power core products like ChatGPT and Codex within OpenAI’s Applications Engineering organization.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting, building, and improving frontend and backend systems; working across the full stack from initial exploration to launch readiness; participating in long-term architectural planning and technical design reviews; and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design solutions that protect against adversarial attacks without compromising user experience.
• The role is part of the Applied Foundations team, which owns the core product and platform layers enabling identity & access, safety, payments & commerce across all applications, spanning product engineering, infrastructure, and safety to deliver reliable, secure, and trusted technology at global scale.
• The engineer will have opportunities to grow by owning problems end-to-end, learning new skills as needed, contributing to high-impact systems used by millions, and working in a mission-driven environment focused on safe and beneficial AI deployment.
