📋 Description

• The Underwriting Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating the activities of underwriting staff related to fund finance opportunities, with the goal of achieving department objectives and ensuring company profitability through new and existing business.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing underwriting strategies, policies, and guidelines; analyzing complex financial and market data to evaluate risk levels; building and maintaining Excel models to assess cash flow structures and collateral performance; applying and interpreting rating agency methodologies (Moody’s, S&P, Fitch); preparing detailed credit memos, risk assessments, and rating agency-style reports; collaborating with senior underwriters to align transaction analysis with internal frameworks; conducting scenario and stress testing across rating assumptions; and tracking market developments in fund finance including regulatory changes and investor trends.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in fund finance, structured credit, or a related rating agency/analytical role
• Strong familiarity with rated feeders, CFOs, or NAV lending facilities
• Experience with rating agency methodologies and the ability to interpret and apply them in underwriting
• Proficiency in Excel-based modeling and credit analysis
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
