- • The Lead Generator Controls Field Service Engineer (FSE) will serve as a Regional Service Team member responsible for delivering high-quality service to customers across the USA, ensuring the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of power generation equipment.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting retrofit projects involving installation, power-up, and commissioning of excitation control systems (EX2100e, EX2100, EX2000 DFE), static starter controls (LS2100, LS2100e), HMI upgrades, and TIL implementation; providing technical guidance to craft labor during power equipment outages; and utilizing analytical thinking and technical expertise to execute service strategies.
- • The role operates within Gevo Inc.’s field service organization, working with some autonomy under established policies, and may lead low-risk projects while mentoring less experienced colleagues and contributing to team consensus on technical matters.
- • The position offers opportunities to deepen expertise in power generation systems, develop project management and client-facing skills, and contribute to the reliability and performance of critical energy infrastructure.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in power generation, generator controls, or turbine controls.
- • Advanced experience in field service and technical advising within the power generation industry, including the ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- • Ability to travel for extended periods, with up to 50% travel required as needed to support customer sites nationwide.
