- • The Home Medical Equipment Representative is responsible for the intake, coordination, and timely implementation of Home Medical Equipment (HME) and supply orders, serving as a key liaison among referral sources, providers, patients, and internal service lines to ensure accurate documentation, verify medical necessity, and maintain clear communication throughout the order process.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include managing patient orders from start to finish—reviewing referrals, entering data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), verifying insurance benefits, coordinating deliveries, providing patient education, facilitating equipment set-ups or fittings, processing Point of Sale (POS) transactions, and supporting patient discharges and transitions of care by collaborating with hospital liaisons and case managers.
