- • As a Lead Database Engineer at Centene Corporation, you will lead a team of engineers in designing and implementing database system architectures that support the technology needs of a national healthcare organization serving 28 million members, directly contributing to improved health outcomes through reliable and scalable data infrastructure.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include developing database systems that meet business and interface specifications, optimizing administration tasks such as backup/recovery, performance tuning, and space management, troubleshooting critical issues across system tiers, and communicating database changes related to upgrades and migrations.
- • You will work within Centene’s technology division, a diversified national organization that values workplace flexibility and offers professionals the opportunity to innovate in a mission-driven environment focused on improving access to care and health equity.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise database systems, lead technical documentation efforts including run books and change management logs, and gain experience in evaluating infrastructure for resiliency, cost efficiency, and technological advancement while mentoring a team of engineers.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and 5–7 years of related experience, or equivalent experience demonstrating applicable knowledge and skills.
- • Experience with Oracle Database Management System (DBMS), MySQL, and SQL (Programming Language), with knowledge of NoSQL and database storage infrastructure.
- • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve critical database problems, optimize performance, and manage configuration, backup/recovery, and space management tasks.
