Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Manager, Technology at Vision Service Plan (VSP), you will lead and oversee a critical technical function that directly supports the company’s mission to deliver innovative vision care solutions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, scalability, and continuous improvement of core technology systems—particularly in enterprise-scale SAP Finance environments—enabling business agility and operational excellence across GTS (Global Technology Services) and broader organizational goals.
  • • You will provide daily direction to your technical team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving. Your leadership will ensure that technical initiatives are aligned with business objectives, risks are anticipated and mitigated, and commitments are met consistently with minimal oversight, driving reliability and trust across stakeholder groups.
  • • You will partner closely with deliverable stakeholders—including business units, vendors, and senior leadership—to communicate technical progress, impediments, and updates in relation to timelines, SLAs, and strategic goals. This includes translating complex technical details into clear business insights and ensuring cross-functional alignment on infrastructure, architecture, application systems, and related processes.
  • • You will drive incremental and transformational change within your technical domain by identifying opportunities for improvement, developing and implementing best practices, and leading department-level technical projects from planning through execution. This involves staying current with emerging technologies and methodologies to ensure VSP maintains state-of-the-art, cost-effective solutions that support long-term business resilience.
  • • You will oversee operational and financial stewardship of your technical area, including monitoring expenses to ensure adherence to budget levels, coordinating training to upskill staff, and ensuring compliance with information security and privacy policies—especially critical given VSP’s handling of protected health information (PHI). Your role will also involve engaging peers and teams in technical opportunity identification and fostering a continuous learning environment.
  • • The Technology team at VSP operates at the intersection of healthcare innovation and enterprise technology, supporting a mission-driven organization that serves millions of members, providers, and partners. You will join a culture that values integrity, inclusivity, and continuous improvement, where your technical leadership directly contributes to improving access to quality vision care through reliable, secure, and scalable technology platforms.
  • • In this role, you will develop advanced expertise in enterprise SAP Finance systems (ECC and S/4 HANA CFIN) within a regulated healthcare context, strengthen your people leadership capabilities in matrix and global environments, and gain strategic experience in managing complex vendor ecosystems and AMS delivery models—positioning you for senior technology leadership roles within VSP or the broader healthcare technology industry.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering) or equivalent professional experience
  • • Minimum of 3 years of management experience with direct responsibility for hiring, training, assigning work, and performance management of direct reports
  • • Comprehensive knowledge of a primary technology area, with strong preference for experience in enterprise-scale SAP FI applications (ECC and/or S/4 HANA CFIN) within a healthcare or similarly regulated environment
  • • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in decision-making, particularly when navigating technical ambiguity, risk, or competing priorities
  • • Proven experience leading multi-vendor, global delivery teams and managing complex partner ecosystems, including AMS providers and contract negotiations in SAP ECC/S/4 CFIN landscapes

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary range of $73,500.00 to $131,250.00, with actual pay determined by experience and job-related factors
  • • Eligibility for performance-based bonuses and commissions as part of the total compensation package
  • • Access to comprehensive VSP Vision benefits, including health, dental, vision, retirement savings plans, and employee assistance programs—details available via VSP’s official rewards and benefits portal
  • • Opportunity to work remotely within the United States, supporting work-life balance while contributing to a national healthcare technology mission
  • • Commitment to professional growth through access to training, skill development, and exposure to cutting-edge enterprise technologies in a stable, mission-driven organization
  • • Inclusive workplace culture with equal opportunity employment practices, drug-free workplace policy, and compliance with Fair Chance hiring ordinances (including LA County and California state regulations)
