- • Agile Defense is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Open Source Monitoring Specialist II to join our dynamic team, supporting a critical federal law enforcement client's Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Program. This vital role is dedicated to the proactive detection of threats targeting specific individuals, locations, and events, contributing directly to enhanced safety and security on a global scale.
- • In this position, you will be at the forefront of intelligence gathering, employing sophisticated research methodologies to identify potential threats across a wide spectrum of online platforms. Your expertise will be instrumental in sifting through social media, news outlets, online forums, and various other open-source channels to uncover actionable intelligence.
- • You will leverage advanced techniques, including the strategic application of Boolean logic and the adept use of automated search tools, to pinpoint information that could indicate potential risks. This requires a keen analytical mind and the ability to translate complex search parameters into effective queries.
- • The information you identify and analyze will be crucial for security and law enforcement personnel worldwide. Your contributions will directly impact their ability to safeguard individuals, protect sensitive locations, and ensure the security of significant events, both domestically and internationally.
- • A key responsibility involves conducting comprehensive open-source monitoring and research to provide essential support to overseas personnel, domestic investigative offices, protection details, and other external consumers of intelligence.
- • You will be tasked with quickly, clearly, and concisely communicating potential threats and other pertinent information. This necessitates exceptional communication skills, ensuring that critical intelligence is disseminated effectively and efficiently to relevant stakeholders.
- • The role demands the utilization of specialized tools and advanced search techniques to identify potential threats. This includes staying abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies in the OSINT field.
- • You will be instrumental in using ad-hoc program guidance to create sophisticated Boolean or other query-language algorithms. These algorithms will be deployed within both commercial and unclassified tools to optimize data collection and analysis.
- • A significant part of your duty will involve meticulously reviewing incoming open-source information. This assessment will focus on evaluating the accuracy, credibility, validity, and relevance of information derived from known media sources, ensuring the reliability of the intelligence gathered.
- • You will be responsible for preparing preliminary referrals of identified threats or relevant intelligence to other law enforcement, protection, or intelligence groups. This requires an understanding of inter-agency protocols and the ability to articulate the nature and potential impact of the findings.
- • Providing technical advice and guidance in the planning and execution of open-source collection operations is another core function. Your insights will help shape and refine the strategies used to gather intelligence.
- • This role offers the unique opportunity to support large-scale, multi-national events, both domestically and abroad. Participation in such events is available and may be desired, providing invaluable real-world experience.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience OR at least 7 years of relevant experience without a degree. Relevant experience includes any positions that required advanced online research or other investigative techniques.
- • Strong ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and in writing, with the capacity to clearly summarize information in writing.
- • Demonstrated knowledge of internet-based research methodologies, including proficiency in Boolean logic and advanced search techniques.
- • Ability to learn new software and technical tools quickly and effectively.
- • Ability to establish liaison and interact effectively with individuals at all levels, fostering productive working relationships.
