• • Everfield AG is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Financial Controller to spearhead the financial oversight and strategic development of our embedded finance initiatives. This pivotal role will serve as the ultimate financial authority, ensuring the integrity and profitability of our payment-enabled companies while guiding new acquisitions through a seamless transition to modern, high-margin payment business models. You will be instrumental in shaping the financial future of our diverse portfolio, driving innovation and maximizing value.
• • As the Financial Controller for Embedded Finance, your core responsibility will be to manage the consolidated close process, ensuring that the unique and complex financial characteristics of payment revenue are meticulously captured. This includes accurately accounting for merchant fees, pass-through costs, intricate settlement cycles, and the revenues and costs associated with payment terminals. Your expertise will ensure that our group-wide financial reporting reflects the true financial health and performance of our payment operations.
• • A critical aspect of this role involves coordinating the collection of essential non-financial data that directly influences the performance of our embedded finance functions. You will work closely with business intelligence and payments teams to gather key metrics such as Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV), GMV penetration rates, merchant counts, and attachment rates. This collaborative effort will continuously elevate our management reporting across the entire embedded finance value chain, providing actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
• • You will act as a strategic partner to Portfolio Managing Directors and finance business partners, empowering them with a deep understanding of the unit economics underpinning their payment products. This will enable them to make informed, data-driven decisions regarding pricing strategies, distribution channels, and overall product development. Furthermore, you will assess and develop sophisticated lending and leasing models for Payment and POS hardware, working in close cooperation with the Payments team and relevant Business Units to optimize financial structures.
• • Collaboration with FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) Finance Business Partners and BU leaders will be key in preparing and maintaining comprehensive budgets and forecasts for Everfield’s embedded payments operations. This includes developing robust revenue models specifically for payment terminals, ensuring accurate financial planning and resource allocation.
• • A significant part of your role will be the ownership of Payments Unit Economics and P&L. You will lead the design and reporting of "take-rate" models for all portfolio companies that integrate embedded payments. This involves translating complex transaction flows into accurate revenue recognition and detailed margin reporting. You will work hand-in-hand with the Payments Pricing Lead to refine pricing models and to ensure a clear understanding of merchant and BU payment profitability.
• • In the realm of post-acquisition integration, you will be the financial lead for onboarding new businesses. When Everfield acquires a company, such as a POS provider in the hospitality or retail sector, you will be responsible for mapping their existing legacy billing systems and financial processes into Everfield’s integrated, payments-enabled framework. This ensures a smooth and efficient financial integration, unlocking immediate value.
• • You will also collaborate closely with strategic partners and finance business partners to actively drive Everfield’s broader embedded payments initiatives, contributing to the company's growth and market leadership in this dynamic sector. Your insights and financial acumen will be crucial in identifying new opportunities and optimizing existing ones.
