📋 Description
- • As Platform Lead at Stellic, you will own the technical direction of the systems at the core of the company's architecture, shaping how AI capabilities, search infrastructure, and shared platform primitives are built and used across engineering teams.
- • You will lead the evolution of Stellic's search and AI platform, design shared primitives like workflow infrastructure and AI systems, ensure quality and consistency of shared systems, partner on technical prioritization with product leadership, and drive engineering excellence through mentorship and best practices.
- • Stellic is a fast-growing edtech startup transforming the student experience by helping over 1 million students across 7 countries plan their education and career paths with clarity and confidence, backed by leading social impact investors and partnered with top universities including Cornell, Columbia, UVA, and Ohio State.
- • In this role, you will have broad impact across teams, shape the foundation of Stellic's product, mentor junior developers, and grow as a technical leader in a mission-driven environment focused on engineering excellence and innovation in higher education technology.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of backend engineering experience operating at scale with a track record of leading complex implementations as a technical lead
- • Expertise building scalable AI platforms that enable product teams to develop AI-powered features
- • Experience designing and maintaining ElasticSearch-powered search platforms at scale
- • Expertise building observable, testable systems at scale with a focus on reliability and debuggability from the start
- • Strong ownership mindset and ability to autonomously lead and drive complex implementations end-to-end
- • Experience with asynchronous/event-based architectures and strong API design skills
- • Clear and effective communication skills for collaborating with product, design, and customer-facing teams
- • Deep curiosity, customer empathy, commitment to engineering as a craft, and desire to mentor junior developers
