This senior role is pivotal in creating accurate, compelling, and well-referenced materials that educate and train pharmaceutical and biotech professionals. Your work will directly influence behavior change and performance improvement within client organizations, making this a critical position for advancing medical and scientific knowledge in the industry.
• • **Day-to-Day Responsibilities:**
• • **Client-Facing Leadership:** Act as the primary medical writing lead for one or more flagship accounts, ensuring all scientific content meets client expectations and aligns with strategic goals. Represent the scientific perspective in internal and external meetings, addressing content-related questions and presenting recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• • **Content Creation:** Develop fully referenced, medically and scientifically accurate drafts for a variety of training deliverables, including self-study curricula, interactive workshops, print, digital, and film-based materials. Ensure all content is clear, engaging, and tailored to the target audience, whether they are healthcare professionals, sales teams, or other stakeholders.
• • **Research and Compliance:** Conduct thorough literature searches to gather relevant scientific data and ensure all content adheres to AMA style guidelines and client-specific style guides. Mark up references to support your writing and incorporate feedback from internal reviews, client feedback, and Medical-Legal-Regulatory (MLR) reviews.
• • **Instructional Design Integration:** Infuse instructional design elements into written materials, such as learning goals, practice activities, and assessment questions, to enhance the educational impact of training programs.
• • **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with internal teams, including creative, learning experience design, performance, learning delivery, and editorial, to ensure seamless project execution. Collaborate with these teams to align scientific content with broader training objectives and deliverables.
• • **Project Management:** Manage your time effectively to deliver projects within budgeted hours and allocated timelines. Ensure all work meets project specifications and maintains the highest standards of quality.
• • **Business Growth Contributions:** Support business growth by researching disease states, portfolios, pipelines, and competitive landscapes for assigned therapeutic areas or companies. Clarify client needs and develop scientific recommendations to address them. Participate in internal brainstorming sessions and partner with the Scientific Director to provide scope estimates for projects.
• • **Mentorship:** Provide medical writing mentorship to junior medical writers on the team, sharing best practices, elevating standards, and contributing to the professional growth of colleagues.
