- • The RF / Microwave Practice Office Engineer at Motorola Solutions supports North American field activities for mission-critical radio communication systems, ensuring safe and reliable operations for government, public safety, and commercial customers.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include testing and developing internal RF/MW tools, providing technical support to field engineers and procurement, assisting in system deployment and troubleshooting, delivering training materials, collaborating with vendors, and preparing reports and presentations.
- • The role is part of Motorola Solutions’ Engineering RF Practice team, a global leader in mobile communications systems with deep expertise in LMR, RF, microwave, and subscriber technologies, serving critical infrastructure across public safety and commercial sectors.
- • The engineer will deepen expertise in RF/MW systems, FCC regulations, and field deployment practices while contributing to standardized engineering practices, customer support, and cross-functional collaboration that enhances system reliability and safety outcomes.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE) and 3 years of engineering or wireless experience, OR 7+ years of related RF/Microwave system field engineering in wireless communications.
- • Extensive field experience in radio communication systems, RF propagation, wireless system design, and hands-on experience setting up, executing, and optimizing LMR and microwave systems.
- • Proven ability to troubleshoot RF/MW sites, address noise mitigation challenges, and apply knowledge of antenna/RF equipment installation and site deployment practices.
- • Strong communication skills to present complex technical topics to non-technical audiences, self-motivation, and ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; employer sponsorship is not available.
- • Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time, including residing within 75 miles of a major airport.
