- • As a Senior Agentic AI Software Engineer at Hopper Inc., you will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS) platform, which powers travel booking experiences for major global brands including banks, airlines, and fintech leaders. Your work will directly impact how AI agents are leveraged to accelerate feature development across a scalable, multi-tenant travel commerce engine, enabling faster, safer, and more autonomous software delivery at unprecedented speed.
- • You will join a high-trust, low-process engineering team where autonomy and innovation are paramount, using AI not just as a coding assistant but as a collaborative force to architect, implement, and maintain complex systems — transforming how software is built in the modern era.
- • Your day-to-day will involve identifying and executing codebase improvements to enhance AI agent performance and safety, working closely with top-tier engineers to drive decisions asynchronously through AI-generated documentation and specifications.
- • You will orchestrate AI agents to build full-stack features — from UX to database — with minimal human oversight, shipping and learning rapidly in iterative cycles while ensuring reliability and scalability.
- • A core responsibility will be architecting foundational patterns and scalable solutions that allow Hopper to efficiently launch new travel portals for partners like Capital One, Air Canada, and Nubank, directly contributing to the growth of HTS, which represents over 75% of the company’s business.
- • You will collaborate with product managers and business partners to define and refine the technical roadmap, ensuring your technical vision shapes product direction and customer experience.
- • You will engage in continuous feedback loops with a diverse, high-performing team, giving and receiving insights that foster both personal and collective growth in an entrepreneurial, risk-tolerant culture.
- • This role offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in LLM-driven development, including training, deploying, and optimizing large language models to power complex product features, while gaining hands-on experience with distributed systems in Scala and modern frontend technologies like React and TypeScript.
- • You will contribute to a mission-driven company that has processed billions of dollars in travel and fintech transactions, served over 120 million app downloads, and become a leader in travel innovation — recognized by Fast Company as the #1 most innovative company in travel.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience training, deploying, and iteratively optimizing LLMs to power complex product features in a production environment.
- • Expertise in designing technical guardrails and automated feedback loops that maximize the productivity and reliability of AI agents operating within a codebase.
- • Strong proficiency in Scala and distributed system development, with a willingness to deepen expertise in this area.
- • Demonstrated ability to direct AI agents and automated workflows to architect, implement, and maintain complex software systems with minimal human intervention.
- • Experience with React and TypeScript for building scalable web frontends.
- • A natural drive to fearlessly deep dive into unfamiliar codebases while maintaining focus on delivering results quickly and effectively.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary with pre-IPO equity upside in a well-funded, high-growth startup backed by over $750M in private capital.
- • Unlimited PTO and a generous parental leave policy that exceeds industry standards.
- • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus access to disability, life insurance, HRA, DCA/FSA, and 401k plans.
- • Carrot Cash travel stipend, work-from-home stipend, and on-demand access to co-working spaces via FlexDesk.
- • Entrepreneurial culture with open communication, small dynamic teams, and massive individual impact.
- • Opportunity to work with leading global brands such as Capital One, Air Canada, Nubank, and Uber through Hopper’s B2B HTS platform.
