- • Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend systems using Python 3.11+ and FastAPI to support AI-driven applications.
- • Build and maintain async REST/WebSocket APIs with clean architecture, dependency injection, and type hints for seamless integration with frontend and AI services.
- • Implement multi-agent workflows using Semantic Kernel to orchestrate LLM agents (handoff, sequential, concurrent) for intelligent task routing.
- • Integrate LLM providers including OpenAI GPT-4.1/mini and Google Gemini 2.5 Flash behind a provider-agnostic layer for A/B testing and cost-aware routing.
- • Deliver Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities using vector stores such as Azure AI Search, pgvector, or Chroma to enhance AI response quality.
- • Expose tool-using agents via OpenAI Assistants (Code-Interpreter) for data analysis and file manipulation tasks.
- • Evolve database schemas using SQLModel and SQLAlchemy v2 with Alembic for version-controlled migrations and schema evolution.
- • Maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket and Jenkins for automated linting, type checking, testing, packaging, and deployment.
- • Instrument services with structlog for JSON logging, OpenTelemetry for traces, and cost/latency metrics to ensure observability and performance monitoring.
- • Champion AI-assisted development practices including GitHub Copilot and Cursor, promoting pragmatic problem-solving and knowledge sharing across the team.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building production APIs in Python, with proficiency in FastAPI or similar async frameworks.
- • Deep knowledge of async I/O patterns, Pydantic v2 for data validation, and observability practices.
- • Strong PostgreSQL expertise, including SQLModel, SQLAlchemy v2, and hands-on experience with Alembic migrations.
- • Proven track record of integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini) and designing structured-output systems for AI applications.
- • Expertise in dependency management using Poetry and virtual environment isolation for reliable, reproducible builds.
- • Demonstrated ability to implement end-to-end CI/CD ownership: build → scan → test → deploy with consistent reliability.
- • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of resolving complex technical challenges.
