Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Design and implement the foundational data infrastructure to reconcile transactions across internal systems (operations, ledger) and external financial partners (ACH networks, banking rails, payment processors), ensuring every dollar in equals every dollar out.
- • Develop and maintain a library of anomaly detection rules covering timing differences, partial matches, unexpected delays, and true errors, evolving these rules using ML-based signals as data matures.
- • Apply probabilistic and fuzzy matching techniques to automatically resolve ambiguous or near-match transactions, reducing manual review queues and increasing straight-through processing rates.
- • Build real-time and batch pipelines that surface unmatched, delayed, or anomalous transactions to the correct stakeholders with sufficient context for rapid resolution.
- • Serve as the primary data partner for Engineering (system integration and pipeline reliability), Finance/Accounting (period-end close and audit support), and Recon Operations (workflow tooling and exception handling).
- • Define and document data quality standards and data contracts between upstream systems to distinguish expected timing lags from genuine financial discrepancies.
- • Identify and eliminate manual reconciliation workloads through scalable automation pipelines, alerting systems, and self-serve tooling for operations teams.
- • Elevate the reconciliation function by sharing best practices in data quality and reconciliation, mentoring junior analysts, and establishing this function as a core capability within the Analytics organization.
- • Leverage AI/ML techniques including supervised and unsupervised methods such as isolation forests, autoencoders, clustering for transaction grouping, and classification models for match/no-match decisions.
- • Utilize LLMs and AI-assisted tooling (e.g., prompt engineering, LLM-based data extraction, AI-augmented workflow automation) to accelerate analysis and reduce manual review.
- • Ensure all reconciliation systems remain audit-ready by maintaining traceability, transparency, and accuracy in financial data pipelines.
- • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate reconciliation logic into new product launches, including upcoming Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) offerings in 2026.
- • Work within the technology stack including SQL, Python, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and Looker to build, schedule, and monitor reconciliation pipelines.
- • Translate complex financial data issues into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical partners across Finance, Engineering, and Operations.
- • Contribute to Dave’s mission by ensuring the integrity of financial data that underpins member disbursements, ExtraCash collections, and banking partner settlements.
- • Operate in a remote-first environment across the United States (excluding Hawaii) with full autonomy to design and scale the reconciliation function from the ground up.
