- • The Senior Business Data Analyst collaborates with business teams to determine needs and opportunities for leveraging data in support of business monitoring and decision management, applying analytics and statistical techniques to generate accurate insights through data exploration, modeling, analysis, and mining.
- • Day to day, the role involves engaging with business leaders to clarify requirements, analyzing complex business problems using operational and financial data from multiple sources, performing data exploration and statistical inference to identify trends and patterns, developing forecasts and regression models, creating dashboards and visualizations to support performance monitoring, and communicating insights via presentations to advance organizational intelligence.
- • The role is part of Vision Service Plan’s enterprise analytics & information management team, contributing to data inventory, stewardship, metadata management, data quality remediation, and ensuring adherence to enterprise policies on data security, privacy, and governance while treating data as a strategic enterprise asset.
- • The person in this role can develop advanced analytical and strategic skills, gain deep experience in healthcare and insurance data domains, enhance expertise in SQL, data visualization tools (Tableau, Cognos, SAS), and Excel, and grow into a trusted advisor who influences business decisions through data-driven storytelling and proactive opportunity identification.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, analytics, mathematics, economics, computer science, or related field; or equivalent experience
- • 4+ years of demonstrated data analytics experience, including querying and analyzing operational and/or financial data, generating insights, and communicating findings effectively
- • Experience building complex SQL queries to join, filter, cleanse, and aggregate data, and creating effective data visualizations/dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Cognos Analytics, SAS, or similar
- • Familiarity with data modeling concepts and relational database structures, and expert-level skills in Excel
