We are on a mission to revolutionize how companies leverage their data, and we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Consulting Engineer to be a pivotal part of our expanding global Support Services team.
- • In this dynamic role, you will provide high-level consultative support to our enterprise customers across the APJ region, operating remotely from Singapore. This position uniquely merges hands-on engineering, development assistance, and advanced technical support, encompassing responsibilities across Consultative Support, Engineering, and broader Support functions. You will engage directly with a portfolio of strategic customers, offering expert guidance, resolving complex technical challenges, and providing crucial technical oversight.
- • A significant portion of your role (approximately 50%) will be dedicated to Project Engineering and Consulting. You will act as a key team member on customer-driven projects, focusing on the entire project lifecycle from initial design and architecture through integration, implementation, and comprehensive documentation. This involves in-depth research, performance benchmarking, functional testing, developing reference architectures, determining optimal system sizing, facilitating seamless migrations, assisting with development tasks, and creating essential tooling to support customer success.
- • The remaining 50% of your time will be dedicated to Consultative Support. You will provide expert, case-initiated support to strategic users, customers, and prospects, playing a critical role in their implementation phases, onboarding processes, successful production launches, and the execution of Proofs of Concept (POCs). This includes offering architectural guidance, technical solutions, and migration assistance, often involving hands-on problem-solving.
- • Beyond your dedicated project and consultative work, you will integrate with our broader Support Team, actively contributing to resolving L1 to L3 support cases and managing customer communications when not engaged in larger customer projects. This ensures a cohesive and responsive support experience for all our clients.
- • You will collaborate closely with ClickHouse Product Management, Engineering, and Sales teams, providing valuable insights that contribute directly to the product roadmap and strategic account planning. Your feedback from the front lines will be instrumental in shaping the future of our platform.
- • A key responsibility involves developing and contributing to a wide array of technical content. This includes creating and refining Public and Internal Documentation, authoring Knowledge Base articles, developing materials for ClickHouse Learning, designing Reference Architectures, contributing to blog posts, and documenting benchmark results. This content is vital for empowering our customers and internal teams.
- • As a senior member of the team, you will also play a role in hiring and mentoring new team members, contributing to the growth and scaling of our support organization. Your experience will be invaluable in nurturing talent and fostering a strong team environment.
- • To ensure comprehensive global coverage, you will be part of a scheduled on-call rotation, delivering high-quality 24x7 support within our globally distributed team. This role also requires an estimated up to 35% of travel for regional onsite engagements, enabling deeper customer relationships and project support.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Accounts Management, Engineering/SRE, or Project Management roles.
- • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed database management systems (DBMS).
- • Technical breadth and depth in subjects such as DBMS, OLAP, Cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, System or Network Administration, and big data.
- • Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers.
- • Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offering (e.g., EC2).
- • Experience with ClickHouse (preferred).
- • Experience with OSS and open-source technologies, as a user, community member, or contributor (preferred).
- • Experience with data pipelines such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, RabbitMQ, or others (preferred).
