📋 Description
- • Lead the Data Pipeline team at Bloomreach, responsible for the backbone of data ingestion, real-time event tracking, and long-term data storage for Bloomreach Engagement, directly impacting how hundreds of millions of customer interactions are processed daily.
- • Take ownership of an established, high-performing team of 6–7 engineers, guiding delivery of new features while ensuring tracking pipeline reliability, scalability, and performance under enterprise-scale traffic peaking at 80–100K tracked actions per second.
- • Drive architectural improvements to reduce MongoDB pressure, improve throughput, and address data consistency challenges, while leading strategic initiatives like Unified Tracking and JWT-based Tracking API Security.
- • Foster team development through regular feedback, growth goal setting, knowledge sharing, and recognition, promoting accountability and continuous learning within a remote-first, distributed engineering culture.
- • Collaborate across Product and Engineering departments to influence roadmap priorities, manage cross-team dependencies, and represent the team’s interests in company-wide decision-making processes.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role in a backend, data engineering, or distributed systems environment.
- • Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, including event-driven systems, message queues, databases, and high-throughput data pipelines.
- • Experience leading teams in continuous delivery and testing, ensuring high-quality output through code reviews, automated testing, and observability.
- • Demonstrated ability to contribute to product roadmaps and strategic direction, balancing business priorities with technical needs.
- • Experience with Agile methodologies and cycle-based planning, including project preparation and prioritization processes.
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex situations and evaluate alternative solutions.
